strange humming noise/vibration in reverse

My 03 Acura CL (70K miles) recently started to have a loud humming noice and vibration only when car is in reverse gear during a cold start. Once the car warms up, there is no such noise when in reverse. Does/did anyone have the same problem?

very interesting you brought that up. Just a few days ago did I notice this with my car. Like you said, it's only on cold starts then it goes away. It just started to occur. Hopefully someone knows, but if it goes away, Im not too worried. Cars do crazy things when the car/weather is cold.

Mine has noise only when in reverse, and no noise when in drive or park. I dount it's gonna go away. I am worried this might come from transmission.

and it's louder when your car is in reverse, but your foot is on the brake right? It's louder then if you were to actually go in reverse.

Right it's louder when in reverse and foot on brake. It's consistent for the past several weeks. So It's not some random noise that comes and goes.

same here. Like I said, I'm not too worried about it since it only does it on cold starts and goes away after like a minute. If it is the trans, dont worry, we're covered.

Is it possible the noise your hearing is the ABS selfcheck/prime that occurs on cold startups?
