Mr , do you mean the hole like in the picture above or the actual port itself?

For the holes, if you have mis-alignment you can bore out the lower hole as shown above.

For the actual port itself, if there is no sharp edges, no need to do anything.

That would be me...F*CK! After inspecting my headers, I found out that the two were symmetrical. They both followed the shape of the front pipe. No difference between the two and I triple checked it from different angles. I ordered mine from "CrazyHorse" at the AV6 forum. I guess I got to take it up with him...

DOLEFEE, Could you post a picture?

I know there is a difference, however, the difference is not that great.

Does anyone have close-up pics showing the differences between the front and rear header? I believe I MIGHT have two of the same header!

very good (on page 2),,, was the 6 bolts in the down pipe,, I see a spring clamp ?? 18" and 17 7/8" is very close.. to me this means that Comptechs don't have the same side loads as the Stone's,, sooo no real comparisons or conclusions about long term durability/reliability can be made.

Nashua, I just took pictures of the "identical" headers. However, I can not post pics. Would anyone like to host them for me? Let me know so I can e-mail the pics...

Why did you take "Pictures"? One pic of one header would be enough..

For your reference, the headers are very close in design. Here are the original pictures:

Nashua, I have been staring at my headers for like 4 min. straight...I honestly cannot tell a difference. Do you have any pics of the headers side by side? Or could you tell me where to specifically look (ie.. which flange, etc..) for the change between the two headers?

Put the flanges on a flat table, the headers up right, if you look from the side, one is angled and on is upright.

Sorry, I do not have headers at hand. Maybe BRCLS will post pictures.

Do not worry, if you have identical headers we will ship you the one missing.

I just tried what you said with no luck in telling a difference. I really need to see a picture of true front and rears.

Another way, assemble the headers with the A-ipe and take a side view and post it.

ModAddict,

It was stated from day 1, that those header does NOT come with a stated warranty. However, I am doing my best to accomdated each issue on one-by-one basis.

I guess I never asked before I bought them, and I can't recall hearing that "stated" before, but if that's what it is, then that's what it is. I'm confident I can get the headers on the car, but I'm not confident I can do so without cracking the Swain coating. If that happens, then what?

I'm a little suprised Stone Racing does not warranty their products! That is not a very confident statement to the aftermarket community.

I believe I asked this before probably in a PM, but I only asked if gaskets are included with the Stone Headers and I got a reply of yes, but which gaskets are included?

Using the picture posted above which gaskets are included?

ALL gaskets?
Gasket on Flange 1 ?
Gasket on Flange 2 ?
Gasket on Flange 3 ?
Gasket on Flange 4 ?
Gasket on Flange 5 ?

I see by the picture above that the OBX's come with gaskets on flanges 4 & 5. Can't tell from the picture about the other flanges.

Thanks,
Jim

Hopefully yours will fit perfectly .If something like that happened then we will deal wtih it.

One thing, I hope swain does not mix front and rear headers and ship you the wrong headers. Pleas email your contact at swain and let them be careful.

Jim,

OK..below is a bunch of pics showing my most probable "duplicate" headers. In the first three pics you see one bolt going in the same location of each of the two headers. I felt maybe there was a manufacturing bug or maybe I was lucky to have DIFFERENT headers as the bolt could only be inserted in one flange and not the other. The bolt simply would not fit in the hole. I figured out that maybe I put the bolt in the wrong direction (I had the nut underneath the bolt) and changed the direction to have them all fit.

The next four pics show each setup of the headers (w/ flanges swapped) and pretty much show identical setups. The pics prove I most probably have two REARs because of the angle the flange on the front postion is at.

The next two pics show what I hope is the correct way to bolt the headers down (nut on top ) and for the gap size I was wondering if this is normal gap for hand-torqued

Last two pics reinforce what I mentioned earlier about the angle of the front mounted flange.

AgentDSS,

Please put the headers side-by-side, both upright. if you look from the side, you should see one slanted one up right. If both are uprights, then you have rear headers. If both are slanted you have fronts.

If you have only rears or fronts, we will ship the missing one.

Mr. ,

First, Congrats on the installation,

O2 ssensor is not pluged in correctly. My guess. To reset it, Disconnect the battery or remove the ECU backup-fuse.
