stock vs. stock

What is the deal with modded cars racing?

It does not prove that one car has a better platform. It only means the guy (or girl) with the most horsey, torque etc... was willing to spend a little more to smoke your ass.

I think if you want to see a race indicative of a cars performance it should be stock vs. stock.

What do you think?

If the point is to find out if an Acura is faster than an Infitinty or a BMW, then stock vs stock might be the only one that makes sense. However, racing involves if you driving your car are faster than me driving my car, and those cars are whatever they are, modded or unmodded, Acura or whatever.

It's fun, it's for bragging rights. No need to analyze it more than that.

Go to the track and have some fun. Just try to better your own times and forget about what everyone else is doing.

There is always someone faster or slower, sock, modded, whatever, it doesn't make any difference,....just take it to the track and don't be stupid on the street!

"RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG" is what the O.Gs told me...

And what modaddict said, getting quantifiable data is great to see if you improved or got worse.
