Steering wheel NOISE

Steering wheel NOISE
Hey guys, my cls is only 5 months old...and when i am going like really slow, say like turning when parking the car, i will hear like a minor zip sound as i turn the wheel...U have to do kinda fast, but not too fast. The sound sounds like ur zipping up ur coat but u really have to try to listen in order to hear it. My dealer told me that its cuz the car is new, there are contacts rubbing behind the steering wheel used for the stereo remote...He says that the wires or somthing are causing the noise and when i drive it more, itll get better....IS this TRUE? or should i go back?

Im not even sure if this is a problem....maybe it is normal...Any of u have any experiecen with this? The sterring turns just fine, but this little sound bothers me...if u turn the stero up, just even a littel, u wont hear it...so if u want, try doing it in dead silence...

Thanks guys!

I had similar problem, I would hear this nasty squaking ziping sound everytime I turn my wheel. Also, try shaking your car in the front driver's side wheel area... if it squaks, it might be the same problem.

Dealer lubricated something and it went away...

OK, what I meant is this:
Park the car, and try to shake it up and down by pushing on your hood (above your driver's wheel). Basicly check how your wheel's spring works. If it squeaks when you push it up and down, then it might be the same problem

Well, i just got back from the dealer, and it seems that the little sqeaking/zipping sound was due to the pressure of the airbag contacts behind the steering wheel. The sound became evident, because lowering the car, placed more pressure on the steering column, thus resulting in added pressure on the contacts....the sound is minimal, and the dealer said that it was not unusual...Guys, does this make sense? or did they just BS me cuz they dint wanna fix it....after all, they only made me wait like 30 mins...when it normally takes me an hour wait for oil change...I think, they just looked at my car, noticed it was lowered, and then made up some bull about it saying that warrantee would not cover since i lowered it....they wrote this on my reciept...."CUSTOMER HAS LOWERED CAR. NO ABNORMAL NOISES HEARD AT THIS TIME."

tell me what u think guys...or if any of u kno about this topic, thx

i had that problem and they lubed ball joints and the probem was gone. That pressure line is the biggest pile of bullshit i have ever heard. I think dealers scare you into thinking that they are doing you a favor by looking at your modded car. that they can charge you for whatever they find wrong. I am not saying all (but many) do this. I am sure that what they charge a private party is much higher then what they get from Acura under warranty.

i think you should just go to the dealership and tell em to fix the noise. If not go to another dealership. Like Jens said that is bull. I would find a way to politely tell them they are full of shit and they should fix your car.
