No rubbing whatsoever, even with 4 people in the car. Pics are below:
Multiple pics of black CL Type S with comptech sways, comptech springs, SSR comps with toyo 235's

Weird, I posted this, and then I didn't see my original message, then I saw your replies. And now the BMW thread (I saw it when I posted this message) is gone!

Anyway, well, this topic is of HUGE concern among dozens of members I know, so it will be frequented anyway. Hopefully people won't lose sight of the ORIGINAL point of it.
But hey, I killed a BMW post, I feel satisfied.

That IS good news. For the record, what is the offset?
Looks like the bulge from the increased tire width provides a bit of rubber protection from curb rash. I'd think that this would help those greatly with the stock rims?
Looks good. I just wish our stock calipers didn't look so puny.
Your title mentions springs but your sig doesn't. To me your pics seem to show that your car is lowered? Correct?
Thanks
Rob

We actualy used my car to perform this test. We swapped rims, and tried very hard to get them to rub, but nothing......

Thanks tuleman. Knowing this setup was tried successfully on a lowered CL makes my heart flutter. And btw would you know if the offset of +48 is correct on those rollers?
Thanks

Technique -- great detective work.
Since Mike has now revealed the rub issue himself, I can confirm that I have heard of no other reports about rubbing with the 235/45-17s Toyos on the SSR Competition wheels (17x8" +48 offset) -- Mike was the person that said they would rub...

It would have saved a lot of work to have had this information months ago.
Hey, its not like the subject was hemorrhoids or something similar... :

You might want to consider that -- the 245s are not XL rated so the casing on the tires will not be as firm and take the higher pressure... (You would lose another lb of rotational weight/unsprung weight due to the lighter constucttion of the 245 vs. the 235.)
The 235s (in the T1S) are XL rated and have the reinforced casing good for the high pressure...
Judging by the pictures of the tires, 40 psi seems the way to go...

I, too have a lowered car, and I'm wondering since the SSR's are 8" wide, what will the difference be in mounting the Toyo 235/45-17's on our 7" factory rims? It'll work OK, yes?
Technique (& others),
I know this setup handles great, and your suspension is lovin' ya for doing it, but do you think you sacrificed any appreciable ride "comfort" by changing to the Toyo's?

Thanks for posting this information, Technique. Kudos to you.
Making the 235/45-17s work on the CL-S (with Comptech springs) is an issue near and dear to my heart. It seems like there's been a lot of conflicting (misleading?)info out there.
Trailblazers should get recognition for committing their time, money and intellect toward finding out solutions that work. Sharing the product of those efforts with fellow enthusiasts is generous and very cool.

I think the toyos are BETTER ride quality than the noisy stock tires...
