Springs/sways or Headers????
AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!
The decision is KILLING me!!! I'm going to order either the springs and sway bars or the headers in the next day or so. I just can't make a decision. I thought that more power was more important to me, but now it seems like I'll get more use out of the springs/sways in every day drivability.
And no, I can't buy both right now so don't even suggest it!!!
Decisions, decisions... What do you all think????

I would say springs and sway bars, but then again I don't have headers.

Won't any of these modifications to your car void the warranty? Powertrain, bumper to bumper warranty?
I'm wondering if Acura (depending on the dealer that does business with Comptech) will do header/springs/sway bar installation?
If they do, then I guess the parts won't void the warranty after all?

Gold - I have springs and headers...if I were to choose, I'll get the headers first. The springs and sways are cheaper, so you can buy those separate later. I guess it all depends on what you want: better handling and feel or performance.

I'd go for the springs/sways first. They're more practical for every day use. The car is fairly fast stock. Tell everyone you know that you want headers for your birthday and have them create a fund for you!

I'm amazed at the difference the springs/sways have made, and its constant. For the price I'd get the springs/sways installed. If you don't like it than you can always reverse back to stock. And for the money you save versus the headers maybe some could go for rims. Hmm. I guess you could do the same with the headers so wait, I do see a problem here.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys... keep 'em coming.
The way I see it, these two things are nearly equally priced.
Headers - $1015
Install - $180 (3 hrs @ $60/hr)
Total - $1195
Springs - $300
Sways - $300
Install - $480 (8 hrs @ $60/hr)
Total - $1080
I may be a bit high on the install for the springs/sways though? For all components, I've taken the max estimated install time on Comptech's website for each. Would it be cheaper doing springs and sways together?? What do you think the install time would be? How long did it take your dealer, Al uminum?
I'm gonna sleep on it tonight and make my decsion tomorrow morning.

GoldTypeS: Heed the Pirelli motto, "power without control is nothing". Adding more power to an already powerful car with soft, stock suspension can be a recipe for disaster. (Heck, even for my less powerful IS300, my first mods would be dampers/braces/springs/bars, in that particular order.) Any power that allows you to accidentally exceed your ability to control is too much power. You can never have enough control. So focus on the control first.

I dropped the car off the evening before, I drive off in the loaner and about 2pm the next day they call and say come pick up your car.
The labor charge on the springs was $298 which @ $74 an hour comes to 4 hours for the spring install. I'm shocked a bit by your estimate of 8 hours but I guess your being conservative when considering springs (4hr), sways (1hr) and alignment (1-2 hr?) The alignment was part of the deal and he had a little trouble but got them all aligned perfectly with just the left rear wheel off by .1 of one degree.
Rides great!
I'm one smiling hombre.
Good Luck …

Thanks, Al! Sounds like you got quite a deal. Comptech's website estimates 3-4 hrs for the springs and 3-4 hrs for the sways.... so that's where I'm getting the 8 hours from. $60/hr was a guess because I'm not going to a dealer. I'm going to my mechanic who is an independant that works on Hondas/Acuras only. I called him today and found out his rate is only $45/hr!!!!! So even if it takes him 8 hours that's only $360 plus the alignment.
And yes, I'm heavily leaning towards springs and sways now.

I am sorry, but are the springs very hard to install on a CL-S???? For what I understand, the shops around here (Bay Area, CA) charges abot $100 - $150 for springs installation. If you get the Springs thru them, they even charge you less!!! But then, is it better to have aftermarket parts installed by the dealers??? Thats way, if something happens, you can always go back there.

If you just want pure hp gains then headers.
If you want to get rid of that ugly fender gap and squating of your car when you gunn it down springs. If you want to corner quick or want your car to just handle better sways.
The order I got mine --> springs then headers + sways.
Heres what I paid for install
headers 300
sways 120
spings 220.

Comptech Headers, Comptech Sways, Eurolite Xenon Crystal high beams.
AEM CAI once they decide to make the dame thing.

My headers and sways just came in today. I'm getting them installed next weekend.
My spring install cost me 180 in the past.
I am getting my headers + sways installed for 300.
I'm just wondering how different of a monster this car will be after installation.

I planning on getting spring/sway bar. The dealership told me $450 for installation and a alignment to. But, should I get Coilover and what kind? Nex?
