Springs popping?

Anyone with comptech springs ever notice they "pop" a lot...in the past week its really been getting on my nerves, and i was just wondering if anyone else had this happen to them....is there a solution (besides taking them off and greasing them)?

Actually they will pop a bit from time to time .If it persists intalling some spring isolators will cure it .These are thin rubber like tubes that must be installed on the upper front coils .The rear Comptech springs have them already but they should be inspected.Greasing the springs is not the hot setup .Grease attracts a ton of road muck and will acelrate wear on the powder coat of the springs leading to corrosion.Plus the grease can hold small rocks etc whcih can make noise all on their own.Jens

since u mentioned corrosion, i've heard a lot of rumors coming from the RSX'ers that their CT springs r rusting...have u personally heard/seen this??? r the RSX springs any different from the CL springs in terms of powdercoating??

All springs eventually corrode no matter how good the powdercoat .Personally i have not seen anything out of the ordinary but that is just what i have seen here.If it is an issue I am sure CT will address it.Jens

Appreciate it, its actually the right rear spring that seems to be "popping" the most....

Who installed the springs and how long after the install did you start hearing this popping sound?

I just had some CT springs and sways installed about 3 weeks ago by an Acura dealership. So far, haven't heard this popping sound.

do you know where i can pick up some spring isolators? i got some from the acura for 3 bucks each, but they're pretty chinsy... not as beffy as the ones that come with the comptech springs. i've actually been trying to find some polyurethane ones. obviously no luck finding them yet. thanks dude.

Actually you do now want thick ones .The ones from Acura seem thin but they are surprisingly durable .Plus remember these isolators go on the dead coils of the spring not on the live part.So thick Isolators will have the effect of raising the car if enough of them are used .Jens

No popping noise at all hear , sounds like the installer did not seat the springs in the strut assy. correctly . If there twisted the wrong way they WILL pop from time to time and on turns . Check that . No springs should ever pop , sways will though!!!
