My friend, I suggest you play with the site a bit and learn a bit about your car before asking questions like that...

well actually instead of going inot the sport shit mode, u can go past D5 and go all the way down to the last notch and push it in towards you, now ur locked into 1st gear. then once u want out of first gear throw the shifter to the right and u'll be locked into 2nd. and then push it up in 3rd and so forth. my dad figured it oout on his 03 but they got rid of it on the 04.

Drifting
probably had to do with a wear and tear issue. i don't like the car shift automatically to second but i would end up keeping it in first alot and would probably screw up somthing.

well i'm done some searching (like everyone has said) and I'm going to see a guy this week who says he change the sportshift so it doesn't automatically shift from 1st to 2nd. apparently its change to the computer or something like that...not quite sure and some solenoid. not quite sure, i'm a driver, not a mechanic. he said it's a few hundred bucks. i'll let you know what happens and weather or not my tranny blows up.
let me know if i should hold back and not do it.

i am reluctant to do the gate shifting. my father had a 92 legend. when i was a teenager, i did the "shift the automatic like a manual" thing. the transmisison was screwed at 70km. the "worm holes" we clogged from the metal a filing and burnt out the 2nd gear clutch. he had it rebuilt and then again then later on, the 4 th gear clutch was shot. so now i'm just asking for opinons for others people and the acura transmissions. should i, or should i do this change to my CL

I'd do the gate-shifting thing when you're really laying into it off the line -- so you can choose when to shift 1st gear -- and all other times just use sport-shift mode if you like choosing shift points.
