Spoiler or no spoiler what do u think

I just bought a 01 CL-S and I plan on doing a lot of things like the ron jon kit and lowering it. But I was wondering should I buy the stock spoiler for it or would it look better without it. What do u think.

i like it sans spoiler.

give me a few weeks and you'll be able to see what an 01 SSM looks like with rondog's kit, servos, and no spoiler.

The CL doesn't look complete without a rear spoiler. IMO, the OEM spoiler looks best.

Sample pics...

.... when the spoiler is off it kinda makes the trunk look like a fat chick sat on it and slumpped the entire rear of the car... especially for the first gens

Definitely needs a spoiler, either factory or M5 lip, but the stock trunk needs some help on it's own. I personally have the factory spoiler w/ clear LED bar (thanks to Smitty), but the M5 lip spoiler looks good on CLs as well.

Stock spoiler > no spoiler.

My SMR came with out one. I traded trunks with Shill, and have been loving it with teh spoiler ever since.

I've always wished my car had come without the stock spoiler, but removing it is expensive.

I also think it depends on the color too... Some CL's look great w/ spoilers, some colors better without...

to those of you who like the car without the spoiler, I respect it! However, IMHO I think the car looks stupid and or girlie with anything but the OEM spoiler.

My two cents.

I think it def needs a spoiler, and I like the oem style better than the M3 or M5 style.

Thanks jproy! The tail needs something. My preference is the M5 but OEM is good too.

I'm leaning towards the oem spoiler. Haven't seen it with a clear led bar. can you give me some info on where you got this and some pics

I'm definitely for the M5 spoiler...when I get some cold hard cash in my grubby little hands, I'm definitely getting one! I think I'm going to try my luck with the (knockoff) prepainted ones on ebay...

I have the M5 and I'm kind of starting to like the OEM spoiler now. Deffinitely looks better with the M5 than bare though.

Without:

Boring, too round, and unfinished looking. (imo anyways)

Oem spoiler:

Makes the rear end look less unfinished and I think its pretty aggressive and form fitting, for a oem spoiler anyways.

I like the M5 lip, but I dont think its big enough to offset the extreme roundness/blandness of the rear end.

i don't recall exactly how much i paid, i know it wasn't that much, but i traded trunks with another member before he traded his car in. Sorry, but i can't really give you any idea of how much and where to find one. I DO know that i'm one of few that have the clear LED bar.
