that's kind of disappointing cause I bet as soon they hit the lots their sold. cause dad promised me as soon as they hit the lots he was gonna take me for a test drive in a 6-speed V-6. but personally I think they'll make more cause they make 2500(i think) CL-S per year with 6-speeds. as common name as the Accord is I see 10,000 V-6 MTs being made. (no offence against the CLS) . what ticks me off about it when they only make 1000 of those Dealers can shaft the buyers because their's only a limited supply(if you remember when the WRX first came they were like this) I heard a guy paid 5,000 bucks OVER MSRP for his WRX. (personally I think he got hammered in the rear end but that's me)(I would have waited if everyone wanted it that bad)(if you notice the public has a favorite car of a couple months recently it's been the new Z)

I find this rumor almost impossible to believe.

There might be shortage on V6 Coupes 6SP due to manufacturing issues but not for the reason noted.

In addition, I cant see the 2 cars having overlaping target markets at all. And if they do, it is very little.

That 6psd Accord would probably be the hottest thing to get...style wise and performance wise, it's totally more accessible than the 6spd-cls.

There would be significantly more 6spd ACCORD owners than CLS (just based on cost and popularity). It would be so stupid to not sell these 6spd accords when they are so hot...

Only a few manufacturers have the luxury of releasing LIMITED numbers of certain car models..(MB and BMW)...HONDA DOESN'T HAVE THE BALLS to do that...they'll eat up any sale possible..to them, it's all about selling the most vehicles...

Limited 6spd accord my ass! Limited 6spd CLS is more likely cause no one will buy this piece of shit 6spd CLS when they can buy the 6spd accord for less and get so much more!

I could really care less cause this is my last honda...I'm going german the next time I'm getting a new car...I got fucked in the ass for the 2k1->2k3 trade-in (with the new 6spd accord release too!) and I'm not going to get raped again...!!

The Accord class is now in a paradox if and only if this news is correct. Originally it was suited for the economy class and was selling over 400k units a year. I.e. Accord = volume seller.

Either way, Honda has erred since they put out two models with overlapping ideals and not enough distinction to an average consumer. What next? Dual note Honda (DNX) vs. updated Acura NSX? I smell an uprising if that happens lol

I don't think that the Accord and CLS will appeal to the same group of people.

I bought my 03 CLS knowing that the accord 6spd was coming out. I looked at the sedans (coupes weren't out yet), and didn't like the styling as much as I like the CLS.

I probably could have saved a couple of grand (maybe) if I got an accord equipted like my CLS. A few thousand dollars over the course of a 5 year loan is peanuts a month. If I had bought an Accord, I could have fit in well with the other 400,000 people who will buy an Accord this year

I talked to a Honda dealer last week. He said the only way you'll be able to get one is by ordering it. They most likely won't have any on the lot. The reason for this is because Honda believes very few people will want a 6sp Accord V6...it's a niche market.

And if you think about it, he's probably right. The Accord's demographic, the people of give it the sales numbers, are not looking for a sports car. It's the few people, like us, who want the 6sp...so Honda's not looking at a volume seller here.

If it sells better than expected and the demand is there, they will probably up production...but if they find that they're loosing money on the option, they'll probably discontinue it. We'll have to wait and see how the general public recieves it.

they're gonna get surprised i think...the cl6mt would have sold much better had it been offered during the first year...many of us who want it,cant afford to get out of our current car

Every dealer I have been too locally told us the same story. That all the dealers in the US are only allowed to have one 6spd period.

True, but Honda would have lost the people who initially bought
a 5AT CL/CLS and then shelled out more dough for the 6sp trade. Theres not too many that fall under this "elite" category, but the 5AT sure made some diehard fans as you can imagine from our fanbase here.

I think Honda was overly cautious with their black-sheep-constructed-in-the-US CL 5AT and didnt really have much to expect or know what to expect for that matter.

we went to look at the new accord and they are only getting one 6speed and it's going on ebay only 1000 are being released at 1st big mistake for honda. when the new cl 6speed comes out who is going to want the accord you know the cl will have more power
