Speaking of Type R's--how many would have bought a CL-R?
Who here would give up the luxury of the CLS for a more performance oriented CL-R given the following modification:
Still an automatic and FWD--
Low weight non-power cloth seats instead of leather.
18" super low profile tires, light rims and stiff suspension.
Fog lights
Slightly more Type-Rish spoiler
Slight underbody kit--not too severe, but sporty
No AC
No sunroof
Aluminum dash trim
No spare tire/jack--just a can of sealant
Tranny upgrade
Mild engine polishing etc.
Lighter, stronger engine parts with 7800rpm redline
Only availible in two colors--bright red or yellow
Larger front brakes
No navigation or homelink
$35000 price tag
Who here would have gone for this baby?
------------------
Black/black CLS
Comptech headers, springs, swaybars
Koni yellows
Polarg M6 road lamps
Solaris Hi beams
Potenza RE730 225/45/17
Red AEM CAI
Denso Iridium plugs
35% metallic tint

I'd pay $35k for the SEMA CL-S exactly as it appeared. Visually ... the brakes and stuff can be left off for the sake of price. Just the body kit and wheels =)
That's my perfect car (in this $$ range). I wouldn't get anything else.

The 00-01 ITR has AC so a "CL-R" should have it too. You can always turn it off. It would have to be a close ratio 6 speed manual too. I would give up my luxury features. I miss my ITR

Your type R sucks. What does it have anything to do with CL? It definately doesn't qualify for the A badge. I can still give you the C...... civic R.

1. Would have to have a manual - 6 speed.
2. Seats would have to be deep bucket seats. Kinda like the Porsche GT3 seats would be nice. 15 pounds a seat
3. Larger Brakes
4. Aluminum Hood and Trunk
5. Lighter rims
6. A more advance traction control system
After that you would be making compromises. No stereo, no sunroof, no power windows, door locks, no back seat, etc. I don't think I would give that up.... maybe if it were rwd, shorter and alot lighter.... around 3100 pounds.

buying a 330 is buying a driving machine.
buying a 323 is buying the name.
