Exclamation Spare Parts Under The Hood

so i start my car and the battery light and the emergency brake light go on at the same time but my car is driving fine. I pull over and turn it off and wait a while and turn it back on again but the lights were still there. Then it starts reving up and down by its own up to like 1500 rpm then back down and up again. So i open the hood and look at the pullys to see why its reving and i see one of the belts is off the pullys. It was the alternator belt, power steering, and whatever else it controls. So i pull the belt out and drive my car down the block and call a tow truck.... Has this happened to anyone..wtf its a acura in not supposed to be pulling parts out of my engine and i only have like 33k miles... by the way iv been hearing this sort of ticking noise when my car idels coming from the pullys i think. I told my dealership about it but they said it was a normal engine noise. It kept getting louder and louder and now i have a fuckin belt in my front seat... Ya gotta love the stealership... Yea it is under warranty...

That sucks... Sounds like your valves see ticking. Have you. Ever had your pulleys or belts tightened? Sounds strange for a belt to come lose unless the tension was lacking.

i just got back from the dealer and they told my that it happened because i had an accident (small fender bender that didnt touch any of the engine parts). They said that because of the accident my alternator was hit and the mounts to the alternator were broken and thats why the belt came out... as a result they are charging me 745 to fix it because my warranty is voided due to the accident.... is this right? plz help

Your insurance should cover it since it was a result of an accident. Have the dealer write what they said on paper and present it to your insurance. Did you claim your accident when it happened?

The dealer is ripping you. Ask to speak with the manager. A reputable dealership would still fix all non "accident" related parts.

Also, if you got hit so hard it broke the alternator mounts, that was one hell of a hit! As in no way Jose. Ask to see the parts, but when you get there not in advance.

A fender bender does NOT void a warranty. Sounds just like Nalley Acura in Marietta. Call Acura Client Services.

Did you try another dealer? Some dealers are different then others.

Try that while you wait for Acura to call back.

i believe the warranty is only voided if the car's title is salvaged/junked/rebuilt.....is yours either of these?
