Spanked a VERY modded WRX

Driving home today and this WRX came up real quick behind me... he zipped over the the next lane and kept going... some traffic slowed us down, so I figured what-the-hell and got behind him. Took him from 70-130... I had to actually let-off the gas... and still passed him by 1-car at 130. Figure... I would take him by 3 cars if we were next to each other.

Anyways... we slow down and he says 'Damn!' I say... I am 'bone stock'... he says 'No Way'... I say 'Do you see any mods?'. He says he has boost-control, intake, exhaust, blow-off - said he has never been beaten on the freeway... I was like.. eh?

I don't doubt it. Those CL's scare the hell out of me both from a roll and on the freeway.

Side Note: There is a certain blue CL-S that you know that I'm determined to beat even after he does his next modification when it finally gets here. I don't think I will ever be able to beat him, though. Espeacially after this next thing he does.

ive driven a friends wrx, its chipped and a few mods, mostly small stuff. the power is great middle, but top end leaves something to be desired. the chip helped this some, but i think the turbo is too small for really good top end

AHHH YEAH, allmotor has his car back, bring on the kills! I wouldn't be afraid to race any WRX from a go, they don't have the greatest top-end, at least with a stock turbo. GARRETT is about to market a kit for the WRX. It has been tested and is awaiting production. The test vehicle is a black wagon, keep an eye out for it in So. CA. Totally stock looking except the exhaust which looks stock but is loud. Car makes about 250-260whp at 18psi. Fast car...

LOL!
I think your right, but I will try. When I raced him the first time, we didn't start from a stop, but from a roll. My car has nothing at low end. His car is damn fast already! If I wasn't such a wimp with my car, I would race from a stop, but I'm too afraid to wreck something in my drivetrain dong a launch. I have told him many times, it just doesn't sit well with me dropping the clutch at 4-5K rpm's. I've never done it and I don't think I ever will. I want to race him on a track, though. I'm pretty sure I could take him through the turns.

p.s. sorry for changing the subject from the original post

Umm.... Sti is a WRX. It's just a higher performance car than a regular WRX. Also, no WRX (even Sti) have TT turbo.

No shit, but people like to distinguish the two by calling one a WRX and the other an STi. For that matter they are both imprezas but people call the NA ones impreza, boosted 2.0 a WRX and the boosted 2.5 an STi. Which one do you have?

Allmotor, nice kill dude. Why did you tell him you were stock? I assume your clutch has been replaced and good to go this time...finally.

Nice job!! I still remember that crazy video clip with your going through the gears.

Do you have any plans for some kind of piggy back chip setup?

There is one... from Bakersfield... but it isn't such a great pass (13.5 @ 108-109) I believe with a missed-shift - I didn't take it, so I forget where it is!
