assuming roughly 6.25% illinois state tax... that brings it up to 19393.75

and a monthly rate of...................

What would my payment be at 4.9% apr for 60 months?

I was always bad at math....and I don't trust those loan calculators on car websites. Can anyone tell me if I should even try this.... I need to stay at or under $300 per month.
ok guys I do this so many times this is the deal

$33,500
- $17,500
= $6K now add tax dont know that %

$33,500 + the tax on $6K thats your selling price

now add $4,800 and subtract $3,500

take that and use the calculator my guess its somewhere around $350 a month

There is very little differnce between the Z and The G35 coupe...

I was looking at a sports car with a nice interior...That is the G35!!

Is the Z more of a sports car becuase it has cloth seats...(on all but 1 model)

And what about insurance? The Z can't be less then the CL.

Plus, if you're looking into a condo/house in 6 mos to a year like you said... don't even think about a car. You're going to lose money on the CL, lose money on the Z (depreciation) and house prices are rising, so you'll be even worse off then you think 6-12 months from now.

Actually, it was cheaper for me, and several others on this board. No idea why.

If you only have 4800 left on your cl, get a freakin payoff quote, put down the two you have in cash on the cl and chip in a little more, and get that thing out clean, skip the rest of the interst... trading that in or selling it will be more than enough to put down on a new car, plus you won't owe anything on it

then in the meantime put that shit up on autotrader, and get top dollar for it and either take off the rest of your mods or get someone to buy it who wants them...take your time, its not like the z is gonna be discontinued anytime soon like the cl is... then shop around until someone give you the best price... i don't see what the rush is even if you want the new car first...

Here's the way I look at this.

The way it looks now, it's going to be $325 - $350 per month.

You want to keep it at $300.

It's a maximum of a $50 difference!!! If you're saying you can't afford a $350 payment, but you can afford a $300, you shouldn't be doing this at all! A couple extra dollars, $50 in this case shouldn't make ANY difference. Unless you're so tightly budgeted. But even then you shouldn't be doing it.

If $50 is gonna break the bank a month, walk away and don't do this!!!

not only that but you're not gonna be driven the Z stock...that means more money for mods and the cycle never ends

car is a waste of money...to me its my hobby so I understand it and accept it. The cl-s is a great car and you've already took the biggest depreciation raping from now on its start to slow down a bit.

keep it and you'll be thanking me in the long run....everyday I think about if I stayed with my first car and saved the rest of the money which has been close to $50K cash bro

Nicky let me help

1) forget about this deal your getting raped in the ass in this one

2) sell the wheels $1500 is a fair price and remember you want the car back to stock..I hope you still have the stockers

3) use the $1500 and your own $2000 to pay off the left over money or at least bring it down to nothing. If its less than a grand use a transfer balance from a credit card with the 0 % apr and use it for the $700

4) If you really want to get the Z start selling audio equipment that you know may not fit in the Z :subwoofer box, aem cai etc. etc. REMEMBER WE WANT THE CAR BACK TO STOCK AND GET THE MOST FOR THE MODS !!!

5) within a month or two the cl-s will be paid off and back to stock...now go and get the house and no more car payments

and the car is worth the same if not more than with the mods but you have no car payments meaning no interest

$15936 (INCLUDING taxes)

That's $300 exactly for 60 months at 4.9%

You're $1500 shy Nicky. The kidney might get you close.

I was coming out with like $302, so as long as you examine all options, do what you think is best. I am in the same situation, I have an 01 CLS and would like to get a 6 speed of some sort, but am buying a house in the summer. So I guess for me it is better to have a house and garage for my CL than having a nice new car in front of a cheap place to live.

BTW, get the Enthusiast model. Same performance as the Touring version. The Bose radio is shit (any you'll be changing it anyway for sure) the leather seats can be bought aftermarket. The rims are the only major difference, but I'm sure you will be changing those too. The Toruing doesn't come with Brembo's, so it's not like you are going to miss out on those either.

I got my Enthusiast 6-speed Z for slightly over $28k with the Aero kit, aluminum skid-plates, wheel locks and trunk mat. Not bad at all, and it would put you under the $300 mark

aftermarket leather isn't the same as getting the stock leather seats, i.e. touring model. i've seen the aftermarket leather in person and it's fairly loose fitting...not bad...but not the same...looks kind of deflated or something. The stock leather doesn't have that look. Also, the stock leather seats are powered and heated. My buddy just bought an 04' touring and his bose sounds great. I haven't gone in for the TSB on mine yet, but it supposedly brings the radio up to par with the 04's. Touring is also the only model with heated side mirrors. Only drawback to the touring is the lack of brembification ...and maybe a little extra heft... (50lbs>enthusiast) ...also the enthusiast model doesn't have VDC which I think is a great safety feature to have, digital tire pressure sensors, availability of the navi option, and it comes with 17" wheels.
