software vs database versions

I take it that 2.04 is the current version the software. but what about the database? my setup tells me i'm using software version 1.09 and database version ADB0520. I'm about to call my salesman who promised a free upgrade within a year of purchase. Sounds to me that they promise anything you want to hear but like to stick it to you once they have your money. Not very smart if they want return business.

2.04 is specific for the MDX and doesn't provide any enhancements over 2.03 for the CL/TL... ONCE AND FOR ALL.... they do not upgrade the DVD based Navi... Go to the Acura website and it says right there they provide 2 upgrades via the old RL harddisk-based Navi.

Exaclty one week! I was headed back from LA where I bought the car and I had maybe 3 hours of sleep that night and I was driving alone. I pulled into Oakland to meet a friend and WHAM! Oh well, it's all good... 3 of them at least!

Database version is diffrent from software version.

I had the dealer upgrade the software to 2.03 but I still have the original database (Maps of 1.02)

You sure got one strange version of 2.03 -- when I bought mine, I noticed that a ton of new Icons and map features were loaded. Normaly, this would fall into the firmware department. (I got more than just updated streets in my upgrade...)

I guess what happend is that the dealer changed the NAVI Module with the new software and he kept the same disc that I had.

So, the NAVI CPU will not load lower version in the EPROM if the the DVD has older software version and this is why I noticed that the difference between the Software and the Data base versions.

Very interesting...

(Very cheapo as well -- I mention this, since I was one of the many who pay for upgrades after being promised a freebie a year for three years. [Check is in the mail, won't &&&& in your mouth, free loaners, promises from carparts.com, yada, yada, yada...] )

Just got back from Acura Salt Lake City. They just got 2.04 but can't distribute til September according the licensing agreement with Alpine. They did again promise to provide a free upgrade for my DVD Navi system.
Is anyone taking the lead and making copies of the DVDs???
