im thinking i might have to pull these heads and give them a street port? mabye the cams while im at it? but before i do are there any other more affordable mods i should look at...EGR bypass? maybe the B pipe? i need 20+ hp

i just installed the bpipe and i would guess you gain about 5 whp from it, it's expensive, but i was looking for about all the boltons possible on top of a difference in sound which i accomplished

if i were you, i would look into seeing how far you can p/p the heads

also a high flow cat would yield SOME gains, but through all my research i have heard of very few doing it and those that did never reported track times/dynos, but in my experience, hiflow cats always yielded gains throughout the powerband rather than a delete pipe, also the hiflow cat is legal

when it's all said and done, why not contact unichip and find a local tuner, i'm sure they can muster up 10+ whp for you as well to bring your trap up 1 mph

i keep looking at your posts and am staying NA almost entirely because of you, keep it coming, cheers.

Without rebuilding the motor or other experiemental stuff (like cams, p&p the heads etc.) your best bet is to tune your power-curve to suit your tranny gear ratios and general car-setup at the track.

First step there is to go get a dyno. I have some software that analyzes your power-curve to other parameters including wheel weight, diameter (at start and after the 1/8-mile), car weight, gearing, elevation etc, etc.

The scary part is I knew that without even looking at your sig.

port polish will help some if you dont have them over bore, cams will be a good combo, but if your going to s/c then a over bore on the head will flow much better that will give you the power you need.

I had a good engineer friend at Omron Engineering help me with my Uni-chip set up. But I find most of my gains were in the suspension hook up. Although I am running a 6speed, a different animal.

What suspension do you have? You set it up in a special way? You runnin some damn quick quarters with just the basic boltons and uni chip!

PS, what tire/rim combo you got too?

Heh, your right.

And for all you know though, a few suspension tricks could be slicks for the track with some sort of traction bars.

sorry, although highrollers car may have a good amount of mods and be a 6sp, i will not believe that low 13 1/4 mile. do you have a slip? never mind the 1/4 mile et. at 106 mph, you need the best conditions and over 270 whp. allmotors setup na was pretty fast too, and it had similar mods!

I do have some other engine mods and can feel a dime with my suspension set up the way it is . But because I have spies who frequent this forum I'll leave it at that. I am a newbe to this forum but an old fart when it comes to racing.

I run 20 inch rims and tires. Tires made to order out of Japan.

I had more mods than I/H to run mid 13's... so a 13.2 @ 106 is very impressive. However that requires at least 300whp. I will not believe 106mph without ~290whp... period! I have about 271whp and I ran 103'ish mph on a busted clutch... maybe 104-105mph could have been possible, but I was never able to achieve that.

Keep in mind that the S/C'd Comptech 6spd with S/C, Header, Exhaust, clutch/flywheel on BIG rims (like your 20's) hit 104-105mph!! That car made 305whp.

FWIW... on 295whp I ran 108 twice and a few times at 107 in my automatic.

Dyno on the 6-speed will get done as soon as I get off my ass and install the thermostat and switch.

i think he means on a 6 mt...i dyno'd 257 and went 106 but ofcourse thats at 232 torque whereas a 3.2 would have to be much closer to 300 to have torque in the 230 + range
