So I removed my rear badges... grrr...

I managed to get the badges and all the adhesive off. Unfortunately there are a few scratches that I have been buffing out with some polishing compound, and over all I'm very satisfied with the look! Naked ass on a CL looks soooo good, especially with my lil lip spoiler.

Anywho, the issue is that the paint underneath was never exposed and hence is a slightly different shade of red than the paint that has been exposed to the elements. I have and SMR, so it's only noticeable up close, but definately noticeable. Has anyone else had this issue? I know it cant be fixed with buffing etc... But over time the paint should fade and match right? Please tell me I don't have to glue those stupid logos back on... Thanks guys.

Wash the area, go over it with some rubbing compound (Scratch-X works fine), then go over the area with a clay bar, and finaly put a coat of wax. It should look better after all of that.

Same thing happened with me, I covered it with '07 type-s emblem though. Might be too much red for your application.

This is why I was having second thoughts about finally debadging my '03 SMR. That and I hope to be trading it in soon.....

Follow gaping46and2's instructions and a couple days in the sun, you should be fine.

Pics?

I'm told Ac dealers have tape of letters one centimeter larger then the letters.
Same exact color as paint. After installed can be buffed over, etc, wont come off.

I have exact same problem, the etching s not coming off with clay bar, polish, wax or time.

If i get the goods on the tape I'll post.
If anyone has used or seen these tape letters, please post.
