Slight Vibration in steering wheel under hard breaking....

Hey guys,
My 2001 CLS with 45k miles has a SLIGHT shudder/vibration in the steering wheel under hard breaking. What is this due to? Do my rotors need turned? And if so, will the warrenty cover it?
Thanks,
Chris

Yep it sounds like the rotors or pads. Warrenty should cover this.

Agreed, sounds like the rotors - they may warp prematurely. Do a search and print out the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) related to this problem and take it with you to the dealer.

I did that and the problem was corrected at no charge (I had 29k miles on my 2001 cls at the time).

However, as a follow up to my previous e-mail, I notice that you do have 45k miles. You may have some problems with getting the problem corrected for free under warranty, but it doesn't hurt to try.

pads/rotors are wear items, not usually covered by the Acura new car warranty (there are exceptions). That is why it is a good idea to bring the TSB with you. Do a search - you will find many entries regarding this issue.
