Should temperature effect my quarter mile time this much?

I couldn't believe how frakin slow the car was tonight:

Reaction .585
60ft 2.28
660ft 9.724
1/4 - 15.060
MPH 92.78

With my mods I feel like I should be faster despite the 60ft time. I hope nothing is wrong, but everything seems ok just s-l-o-w.

It was right at 90 outside, about 80% humidity. This was my best of 3 runs....

I figure I should be right at 14.5-14.6. Would 20 degrees cooler give me .5 of a second?

This is too little information to determine a problem if there is one. But high temps and high moisture content will cause lower numbers. What you should look for is relative numbers of other cars at the track. That helps to discern if it is your car or all cars.

I think 70 % less humidity would be better .your sucking more water than air, good for detnation though !

Actuator is ok. I'm not sure of the exact elevation but I was asking around and most people seemed to think it wasn't high enough to be a large factor.

I wish you had so I could've seen if it was the conditions or the car. I'm pretty sure it was the conditions everybody seemed to be complaining they were slow, but running 15's isn't fun.

the elevation around cincy varys between 400 to 900 ft above sea level. I doubt that played a big part...I bet it was the Temps.

If the weather is nice I might try and make it to Edgewater on this wed. if you wanna go

Okay... here is your answer:

From conditions above at 6PM:

Density Altitude: 2171 ft

From the NHRA table here: http://www.tsrsoftware.com/nhra%20el...%20factors.htm

The correction factors are: ET: .9744 , Trap MPH: 1.0269

So your corrected times:
ET: 15.06 x 0.9744 = 14.674464s
Trap MPH: 92.78 x 1.0269 = 95.27 MPH

I know I'ma catch flames for this, but just unplug your positive terminal on the battery for 3 hours, plug it in again and drive the shit out of it. shut her diown after a 15 minyute drive and the next day, she should be back to normal.

Now the Ultimate web page would do:

1) extract weather conditions from: www.wunderground.com The have tabular format for the weather conditions:
2) Using HP correction factor calculator from: http://wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_hp_abs.htm
3) Use the correction factor for ET and MPH from http://www.tsrsoftware.com/nhra%20el...%20factors.htm

Using your time slip numbers ..Dyno numbers if know.

Generate the table of the time, weather conditions, Air density and HP correction factors, corrected HP and Torque, corrected ET and Trap, estimated HP from each run...

Now that would be awesome!

That seems more in line with what i should be running. Still a bit high. I get my UR Pullies this week that should shave another .1 off I am hoping. This is on the heavy stock rims as well.

I tried gate shifting and SS. Gateshifting produced the fastest times

I tried everything. Gate shifting is fastest because you can stay in 1st longer than SS or D5
