You'd be lucky to get 9K on a trade in. Private party deal about $12K.

Don't guess... run the numbers thru Kbb.com (or nada or edmunds).

The numbers could be a little higher than what Fuzzy mentioned (depending on location and condition)...

My 6spd is worth about 10K in trade and 12K in private sale on kbb. At that price I may just keep mine for awhile longer.

People here on acurazine are cheap, so you won't find a buyer at 15-16K unless it's got under 30K miles...

Greenie, if your car is worth 10k on the trade-in, I don't even want to know what mine is worth with 95k. The car is not worth trading in anymore, it is better to keep it and drive it til the wheels fall off.

FIXED

The good news is that the CL's are pretty close to the point of depreciation plateau, so money will finally stop trying to jump out of people's pockets so quickly.

We can talk all we want about what the price guides value it at, or what people are asking for (not getting, but asking) on autotrader and Craigslist, but everything is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it...

But yeah, the CL is a great bang for the buck. Even more so now that prices have really dipped...

I can't see getting rid of it and moving to another fwd coupe. If I needed a sedan like the original poster, that's another story, but I'm not about to get rid of my CL to buy an accord... that would be crazy IMHO.

I dont think anyone gets what they should for a CLS... I sure know that they are overpriced as far as retail in our area (Houston)...

I think I am gonna sell mine in the next 6 months... they just cost too much to repair when they get over a 100k on them and have lost so much value...

I am not the one to ask since mine is in the shop needing a new transmission to the tune of $3500...

If i got rear ended and the damage was cosmetic but i got a free rear bumper out of it, does that bump me down to fair instead of good? not trying to hijack.

sloguy - is you car auto or manual? If it is a 6-speed, 55k are pretty low miles, you could try selling it through the forums.

As to everyone else's comment, you are absolutely right, if I had an auto I probably would have sold it by now.

if it is a 6spd you will get a better deal if sell it to someone who actually appreciates it!

if its a auto... well, you probally need to sell it before the transmission becomes an issue...

.... and I agree 55k is great mileage for an '03!!!!

My car dealer friend looked it up...

Wholesale...
Extra Clean Clean Average Rough
Base $12,450 $11,600 $9,900 $7,800
Options $0 $0 $0 $0
Mileage Adj. ($475) $0 $225 $0
Total $11,975 $11,600 $10,125 $7,80

Retail.....
Extra Clean Clean Average Rough
Base $15,275 $14,250 $12,150 $9,700
Options $0 $0 $0 $0
Mileage Adj. ($475) $0 $225 $0
Total $14,800 $14,250 $12,375 $9,700

Trade in....
Clean Average Rough
Base $11,770 $10,240 $7,410
Options $0 $0 $0
Mileage Adj. $0 $225 $0
Total $11,770 $10,465 $7,410

This is national. Also interesting note, deduct $750 for the manual trans. Also most cars will fall into the average category. Clean will have to be a VERY clean car with low miles.

Either get out of it now, or keep her till she dies. I just bought mine in January for 9k (01CLS) with 79k on it. Its got 83k on it now and I'm going to get rid of it at the end of the summer, hopefully I can get what I payed for it. (before the tranny goes...)
