you should not race on public roads. Try to go to 1/4 mile track and sort out with your buddies. Timeslip do not lie!

I think their point is that
a) This is your first car
b) You're very young
c) You're already planning to break the law

Not a good way to start your driving career.

Take it to the track and be safe. ^_^

haha pimpcls you are ridic. Im 17, and sure i race my Cl-S and im lucky as hell to have it, but man i dont do stupid races. Do a little 0-70 or 20-70 or something. Dont try to go to much faster, unless u dont care about speeding tickets, or annoying ur parents. Learn the cars limits first

um, how about dying? that might be a reason not to race other high schoolers either. I know it seems like we're all a bunch of wet blankets - its only because we don't want to see people getting hurt or killed.

are you getting a new CL? If so, don't forget about the break in period.

And is the F150 a Lightning or HD edition? If not you should take him.

I can't wait for the post, "I just totaled my new CL racing a Ford Focus" posted from your hospital bed.

Of course the post that would really support Darwin would be the one from your buddy posting how they just scraped your remains off Sepulveda Boulevard and then a poll: cremation vs. burial for pimpcls'.

i have beaten a 330CI, 5 speed (good driver) with a bone stock CL-S, it was neck and neck till about 100mph when i began to pull. RSX-S's run like 17's at the track even with godd drivers can't break a high 15. Cl's can run high 14's. G35 - good luck!

yeah i suggest u learn to drive properly to b4 u race, i was driving 2-3 months (alone) b4 i started racing, i am a pretty good driver now, i no the limits of the car, can control it and my balls got about 3 times bigger. Don't do it (race) right away. Learn to drive first. if u have the urge to race ... go to a race track, i have yet to go cause the closest one to my house is like 4 hours.

if it's the crew cab with the supercharger, which it sounds like it is, it will give you a run for your money. Last time i was at the track they were running mid to low 14s, i was surprised to say the least.

I agree with everyone that says keep it safe but anyone that says that they bought the Type S for something other than speed I would assume is lying. OTherwise, but the CL-P. Sounds like your friends have some nice cars...any of the ones you listed will either be a drivers race or you will have the upper hand. The best way to settle it is as Nashua said, all go to the drag strip and go as fast as you can. It is legal, cheap, and you will have solid evidence to say you won or lost. Plus you can settle it all in the same night without playing Fast and the Furious!!!

Good luck.

Believe it or not you might actually have more fun doing at the track because you will also get to see some other fast/cool cars. I'm not gonna sit here and lecture and call you stupid but will say heed everyone's advice and take it to the track. Enjoy the car but be safe!

WTF?? rsx-s can run 15 flat bone stock! with i/e they break into 14's easy. a 6speed cl-s should still be fine, but the auto's might have trouble untill higher speeds.

pimpcls-dude, its funny how you don't want to race at high speeds just cause your scared to lose your licence. If a cop catches you racing your licence is DONE no matter what speed you're going. (so just find a good spot that won't get rolled)
oh and it's always best to have several "one hitter quitter" spots. Just race once and relocate and thats your best chance not to get caught.

racing

when i was in high school i was driving a 70' triumph tr-6 conv.
this was in 84'.....
i was just having fun racing some friends back to school from lunch. i was following a 72' camaro flying around a corner, i dropped it into 2nd and punched it. i spun out and ended up in someones front yard. thank god i didn't go through their front window into their living room and kill someone. i was not caught but i didn't have to be. i shit rubber nickles! it taught me a valueble lesson. from then on i mellowed out behind the wheel.
i was raised around hot rods & sports car my dad was taking me to the go-kart tracks by the time i was 7 years old. but it was the fact that i was only 17 yrs old only had my licence for two months and did not know the cars limit (or any cars limit) that caused the accident. because of a couple of deaths at my school from similar situations our campus became closed.
RESPECT YOUR DRIVING PRIVLAGE! racing might be fun but women are more fun. if you lose your licence how are you going to get laid!!!!!!!! in high school having a nice car is like gold, you will no doubt have one of the nicest cars at your school. listen to the members of this forum and GO TO THE TRACK! it's more fun anyways.....

pimpcls... it is good.. tkae it easy. i got my liscence about 3 months ago .. and i went crazy used to drive 75 through traffic race every damn bimmer. i raced my friend to a restaurant during lunch. the restaurant was 10mins away plus i gave him a 1:30 head start.. and i beat him there thru traffic. One of my boys taught me how to drive... but thas another story. that kid tries to drive fast now, by passing ppls and doing stupid things. about a week ago he was soooo close into getting into an accident. i thought about about it and was like if it was me, what would happened, so now i don't really speed at all plus if ur caught ur fucked.. and in ontario we have this huge cop alert thing against racing and speeding so i try not to speed. Might sound like BS but it is true jus calm urself and go to a track. sad thing for me my parents won't let me got the track plus its like 4 hours away.

Hey pimpcls, I don't know whereyou are at in SoCal, but heres a deal for ya. After you get the car, and are a little familiar with it, e-mail me.

I'll take you out to LA Country Raceway, a full 1/4 NHRA certified track in Palmdale. I'll show you the does and donts at the track. They do grudge racing almost every Wed and Fri night. Just give me about a weeks heads up to work out the details.

Even before you get the car, maybe you and your buddies should go up there and check it out.

www.lacr.net

Who knows, maybe someone from this board will finally race me.

If LACR is not convenient, I have friends that run at every track in Cali, and I'm sure I can get someone to show you the ropes. Street racing is not something you should get started with, time slips, emergency personell, and a controlled environment make racing at the track soooooo much safer than messing around on the streets. Don't get me wrong, I sometimes get caught up in an occasional stop light run woith a pesky Mustang or something, but I really try to avoid it.

Enjoy your CLS when you get it, it is a very nice ride.

yo str8 up im 17, i started racing my cl-s after 3 months of what i called a "trial period".. get to know what your car can and cant do and at what speeds you can do it.. you get me? also you gotta get ur instincts to react so you can stop on a dime if you have to. be careful kid.. o and for you members who are so responsible now-a-days(cuz i know anyone who likes speed street raced b4, no matter what car you drove) : "be responsible and take it to the track"

PS - u got em all xcept the g35 n F150 from a stop
f150 you might have to take it to the highway.. love the top end!!
