Should I go for new 03 S?
After a big disapointment but great 24 hrs in Lauderdale(01 S was a repainted wreck), my local dlr has a new 03 non nav black/tan S. He fast quoted 27600. Are there any rebates/dlr cash aside from the 3% holdback? Think this thing will hold some resale $$? Thanks

auto which I want. He intimated there "might be coupla bux" when I was ready...
I think used ones are holding too much value(since you own 'em and I don't). Just under 19-23k for a 2 yr old one most places I look. That's why I flew to FL for that 30k 01 for 16500. It's easy to sell it for that when it's a rebuilder...they probably paid 9k +2-3k repair/paint.

27.6 doesn't sound too bad. IF it's exactly what you want. On a 30 something dollar car, it doesn't make much sense to me to buy something unless it's exactly what you want. I don't mind paying a few extra bucks to get exactly what I want.
Chaptorial is right, they should be willing to deal on a leftover discontinued model. I got the Honda dealer down to 1700 below invoice on a 2002 Accord EX V6, but decided to get the CLS 6spd, 'cause that's what I wanted.
27.6 is about 1000 under invoice, but I think that there is more room for discounting on a discontinued leftover.
I would try to haggle down another $1000 or so, and/or have 'em throw in a bunch of extras (spoiler, trunk tray, all weather mats, etc, etc).

Good points green, I think there's a 120. dlr cash rebate as well as about 900+ in holdback.
I think as the 03s sell out, the $$ will rebound a bit on the used ones.
I also have a red 01 nonav with nicely respayed(no damage) nose for 17k-ish available but the color scarwes me off the way I drive. Still pondering.

If you're getting the 03' get it in Blue or anthracite which look newer.
Also if I were you I would go with the 6 speed instead of the auto if your into driven hard.
I loved my auto with headers and ice-box with the basslink....the onlything missing was the navi so make sure to opt for that.
just remember that the navi is a little old for today technology but I think the new DVD is available so make sure you get that thrown in on the deal.
resale value is not so good cause I traded in my 03' cl-s 6 spd. with 10K for only $22K and I bought it for less than $27

I'm done shifting in NY so a slusher it is. the nav is ok but I think the new Navman unit is cool and portable. I like the blue but they only have a black-maybe I'll scope out another dlr-this one seemed pretty cavalier on his price.
