Shifter thread pattern and size

Hey guys I am machining my own shift knob and need to know what size to drill the hole, and what size threads to tap it with. Anyone know off the top of their heads? I am going to keep searching around.

Thanks

Ahhh thanks bud.

So I don't have my car with me at school right now, so I am not able to measure myself, BUT can somebody with a six speed measure how long the treads are on the shifter? Bascically measure how long is the part of the shift that the stock shift knob screws onto. for example is it an inch of threads and then just straight bar? or is the shift fully threaded?

Thanks guys
