She got the '03 6spd!

Well guys, she finally made a decision. After 2 test drives, 5-6 hours in at the dealer all in the same day, my girl made the choice to purchase a 2003 6sp CL-S. Anthracie is the color and man, I'm jealous! It's wwwwaaaaaaayyyyyy nicer than my '01 AT! I think she did good, considering she got the car with 37K on it and paid $21,9.... Honestly when we first looked at the car and saw the price I didn't think we'd be there more than 5mins. I almost left immediately. Their asking price was **cough**...$27,9...**cough**. Yeah, who in their right mind would pay that?? Anyway she's got it, she's happy, and no more Pontiac Grand Puke! Thank's to everyone who participated in all the input on what car to choose for her on the CL-S vs. TSX debate thread... You know, the one that was locked out by the Mods.

Yeah, thats a sweet ride. I just bought a used black 03 cl-s 6spd a month ago. Took me a loooong time to find this baby. Whats funny is that I have never drivin a stick before in my life when I bought it. And now I'm never going back to auto, unless I buy a truck or something. It had only 15k on it and was on the lot for $27k. With a bit of good cop/bad cop with help from my mom, we got them down to $21k. I was actually also looking for the anthracite, but and 6sp in any color is pretty rare. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.

She got a great deal! You can't get an '03 6spd around here less that $23k-$24k. She got a good deal, I don't give a damn what anybody says! Oh yeah and by the way, private sellers in Autotrader can't give you a certified pre-owned Acura.

Oh, did I mention it was a 6spd?

I didn't get robbed at all. The car wasn't even 2 years old when I bought it. I got it from a dealership, certified, 100k warranty, for $21,500.

I'm buying a '03 6-speed this week 30k miles, all the Comptech goodies (including S/C'er) for $20k

She shouldn't have paid more than $20k for it.

The NADA Guide RETAIL price on an '03 6MT certified is only $21,800. Trade in is $18,825. So basically she just drove off the lot and is already $3-4,000 upside down on her loan. She OVERPAID; period.

Funny how they deduct $$ for not having the auto, yet there was no price increase for the auto. Or reduced price for the 6 speed when the car was new.

Whatever your market is. By me you couldn't get more the 18K for a 6 speed with 30K miles. No one wants the car where I am.

To the general public a manual transmission is extremely unpopular. Only 10% of cars sold in the US have 3 pedals, thus it hurts the resale value

What difference does it make if she intends to keep this car how much she paid? Markets are different, it's certified, etc.

Good choice! She won't regret choosing the CL-S over the underpowered TSX.

What difference does it make? Sure it is a great car... that's why i'm switching to a 6MT. But overpaying for something... regardless of how long you plan on keeping it is foolish.

I agree with ya Stevie to a point. A good price is when the Buyer is happy and the Seller is happy. Thats all that matters. Ya she mighta over paid a little bit. Least she didnt get swindled ya know?

Yeah by no means did she get raped. It's a great car and i can't wait for my 6MT. But she still overpaid a lil. By no means was it a GREAT DEAL.

For instance. Another member just bought a 6MT CL-S with 28k miles on it for $18k. Now that's a great deal

I'm a newbie too!!

I got my '03 CL-S 6MT about three weeks ago after totaling my '01 Prelude in the mountains. It had 19,8K miles on it and I got it Certified from the dealer for $21,500. I thought it was a decent deal after shopping around. But I'm her 4th owner (lease return, repo, trade-in, me) and someone changed out the stock radio for an old Kenwood DVD player. It's trick, but I'm kinda too old for this sh__. There are a lot of factors that go into a car's price and one can easily overthink it.

Anyway, I'm new to forums, sorry if I don't get the shorthand right. I think the girl did a great job making herself happy with her CL!! I know I am.

Unfortunately, I've never heard of AcuraZine until AFTER we purchased the damn thing. It was then I found out that people have been buying '01s for like 14k.
