Service at 46k Miles

Okay, so I told them my 2001 5AT definitely missed a shift last weekend, and they cannot reproduce it.. And the transmission fluid looks good, as do the codes.. Blah.. guess ill have to wait until I get in real trouble.

They readjusted and repositioned my third brake lamp to fix the rattling..

Said I should also change my anti-freeze for $280 and flush and change my power steering fluid for $89 ... should i let them or do those myself, or what? Sounds high? 280! i hope I heard him wrong..

I just had the power streering fluid flushed & condition on my 2000TL. This was done a few weeks ago at an ACURA/ HONDA SPECIALIST place. They did work on my previous HONDA 90 &94 cars. The guy that owns the place was one of the top master techs at my Honda Dealership. I have know him for over 23yrs when I purchased my first new car from that dealership a 1980 Prelude.
This place aways sends me service coupons/flyers with service specials. I have never taken the TL to them since I got it.
So I got the flyer and it had the power steering flush & condition on. It says that should be done evry 36,000 miles or 2 yrs.

I also watch the PBS TV SHOW MOTOR WEEK & the auto tech PAT GOSS says that it should be done at the same time. I never had this done with my other 2 ACCORD cars to my knoledge & they were dealer serviced. The cost for the power steering system flush & condition was$ 89.38. This is about in line for what elliot was told & mine was not at the dealership. The labor was $65.00 & the power steering fluid was $19.50
