Self Tuning with Emanage Blue
Can anyone walk me through tuning with the Greddy EMB. I have the piggyback, plug and play harness, and wideband O2 sensor. The roadblock I'm running into now is how to datalog AFR v. RPM in order to change the AFR without just taking shots in the dark. Any solutions?

I have not used an emanage blue but I do have experience tuning piggybacks as well as flashing cars. Does the emanage have any kind of input that you can log? Many times they will have WB02 inputs. Now that I think about it, I did tune an emanage ultimate for a few minutes and the AFR was in the logs.

Alright I think I may have found what I need. . .
Greddy Emanage A/F Sensor Harness PN 15900912
I'll have to contact Greddy and see if this will work with the Emanage Blue it says it's for the Ultimate but I'm hoping. . .

My email to Greddy.
Tech,
I'm looking at the Greddy Emanage A/F Sensor Harness PN 15900912 and was wondering if it could be used with the Emanage Blue Piggyback unit? If so what other modifications in the software I would need if any? If not other suggestions that would allow me to log Air Fuel Ratio v. RPM without the use of a dyno? I'm at the stage now where I have the jumper settings on the unit setup correctly for my car, I have a Boomslang Plug and Play Harness, and the need support tool and software. I can't find any tuners I trust in my area. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Greddy's response.
Yes, this A/F harness will work on e-manage blue and with an external wideband O2 sensor. You will have to go into parameter settings, below the section where it says memo, you will have to change it from disconnect to A/F SENSOR(0-5V). Then select confirm and to be sure I would export data. You will need the support tool for these actions.
I'm excited now

Sorry for the letdown, but I tried with AEM FIC6 with two different tuners, I also read a lot about it, and to this day could not find anybody who actually posted a map or proof that it was actually done. I resorted to 6 lbs of boost with a FPR adjustment and a exhaust temp gauge to manually monitor the readouts. Also, keep your eye on the sideband O2 sensor and you should be good. I know I have been for the last 2 years. To sacrifice the 10-15 hp lost without a emanate or FIC tune is well worth the peace of mind and reliability.
My tunes worked for 1 drive cycle, the car felt like an animal, but in the next 2 days, in the morning, the car drove like it was possessed with lights all over the dash and sputtering.

but you haven't tried with the emanage blue right? I'm sure it's lacking in features compared to newer tuning devices like the FIC, but it has been proven to work. Allout has been running the HBP with emanage blue for years.

There aren't many tuners around that know what there doing when it comes to our cars it seems. I've been to and talked with many tuners who didn't have a clue, with the exception of Anthony Verma at AVS. But he charges like $600 for a tune. One guy told me that the J32 was the exact same engine as a J30. This is why I'm doing it myself. Seeing that there is no plug and play harness for the FIC your problem was probably in the installation of your unit rondog. The Boomslang harness has been proven to work with the 6-Speed CL. I'll post maps/screen captures if you need to see it to believe that it works. Keep in mind it will probably take a few months with my school schedule.

From what i've read, things like the FIC were designed around the auto CL sensors? and when 6speeders go to use them, things go wrong.
I've read a few threads on people failing to tune with certain devices, but not the emanage blue.

Pretty much all the piggybacks and stand alone ecus are made for the auto wiring harness. For a six speed there are only a few options the EMB is the cheapest and has been proven. Yeah you can only change air fuel but for me that's all I need I just want the car to run consistently and pick up a few hp in the process.

Finally got sick of staring at the tuning stuff in my room and wired up the A/F harness to the wideband. I plugged everything in and made sure it worked. I'm going to start messing around with the software more tomorrow hopefully and get it setup to record A/F v. RPM

Yeah Mechanical Engineering is pretty easy lol. Gonna clear the map in the EMB tonight and see if it will run. Theoretically it should because the unit just adjusts the signal to the ecu. I had an older version of the support software so I upgraded that last night to the most current (v 1.49)

Nothing to report I have a shit ton of homework to do and I had to work all day today. I'm hoping to get some time one night this week to fool around with it. If not I will defiantly do it Friday and Sat. Cars & Coffee this Sat. so even more motivation to work on my car!

Success!!! Had some issues when I updated to the newest version of the software for the support tool (v1.49) but I got it sorted out. The piggyback is hooked up, wideband is logging correctly as well as rpm, and the car is running normally. Now its just a matter of getting some pointers and doing a bit more reading up on adjustments. Then I just need a friend and a clear stretch of highway!!

Yeah it is just go to Greddy's website
GReddy Emanage Tech Support
Some of the stuff is in Japanese so you'll have to double check in the software to make sure everything went okay.

It's running normal now with everything hooked up. Just playing with the data logging features now to get a good graph so I can start pulling fuel. The car is running really rich in to the 10s when I'm full throttle. If that doesn't mean anything to you it should be around 12.8 or 13 afr for an NA car. . .
