Seen the new Altima yet?

Saw it on Motor Trend TV on Speedvision and it looked big and heavy. I think the rear looks horrible. It's like 2 feet of vertical trunk. It looks larger that the current Maxima, close the the size of the I30. I guess it will be made at the Nissan plant down the road from where I live. They make all the Xterra's and Altima's.

That car should get an award for the most promising looking drawing/prototype with the worst execution (I also think the back end looks like sh*t). I really liked the initial drawings/renderings, the car looked like it was going to be a real jewel.

I think the New Q-45 should be at least runner up too. I saw one today and wanted to cry, I sure had hoped they would be prettier than the beast pasing me in the on-coming lane.

The new Altima is evidence that Nissan still hasn't learned how to style rear ends. The 240hp V6 is nice, but I would rather go for the current edition Maxima, or even the Accord V6 if I was looking for a car in that market segment.

Should be a neat car though, if you can tolerate the looks....17 inch wheels, dual exhausts, 240hp, manual tranny- Nissan always undercuts the competition by $2-$3k. I'll bet a loaded 02 Altima goes for approx $25,500- give it a month or two and you will be able to get for invoice, or a few $$ above.

offtopic: The car I am seeing lots of is the WRX....some look like shit (nasty Blaze Yellow with the standard wheels- yuck), some look really good (saw a Rally Blue one, with tinted windows, spoiler, Gold SPARCO wheels).

I like the Q though, get the 18inch wheels- in the dark blue, with the sport package blue tinted lights and the cream colored interior you see in the adds (with the Parrot)- really nice.

No no, that award has to go to the newly redesigned Viper. Wait till you see how shitty it really looks compared to that badass prototype they COULD have made.

I don't think I would trade my Gen II Viper for the new one (despite its 500hp V10)- saw it in person, and while it was nice....the theme has gone from "brutal" to "aggressive"-you couldn't confuse the current Viper for anything else, the new one on the other hand....anyway, the Gen III Viper is probably going to be like $90k- thats heavy....I might look to the new NSX.
