Secret Services 240sx vs. a VERY mean 2000 SS camaro

Secret Services 240sx vs. a VERY mean 2000 SS camaro with:
head / cam package
4.11 gears
200Hp - 2 stage nitrous

240sx had
100% stock block, with unknown miles salvaged from a junkyard in Japan, with the aid of only a head gasket, the head was reworked with a few choice parts but remains unported. 1000cc injectors, Haltech E11s, Garrett GT3040 turbo, small Blitz FMIC, and SS designed and fabricated intercooler and exhaust piping

Well if the SS has only 200 HP (Hello they came with 300+, 325 in 2000 I think) SO if you mean 200 total hp...then there is somthing wrong...if you mean 200 hp gain from the nitrous then again, something is not right, if you mean 200 shot, again, hard to believe, like mattg said.

http://www.secretservicesinc.com/trogdor.html

that is the website for car owner. dyno sheet is also posted about the 240sx.

The 240sx made 539RWHP and 414lbs of torque to the wheel. The older 240sx weighed in at 2600-2700lbs with driver.

dyno sheet of the 240sx. JDM stock nissan 240sx ran high 13's stock....not bad for a car built in the early 90's

I call BS, I have this friend with a SR20DET swap, and my Regal jumped all over his shi!t. J/K Greg, Heads/intake/cam, he should be making similar HP to the 240, then add the N2o....I think something is a little off. Maybe the 4.11 gears are too much for a top end run, or his sh!t wasn't tuned. Either way, they are both wicked cars, I wouldn't tangle with either.

i think its tru, becuase my boy hates imports and all of us ricers. He got a El Camino pushin 300 - 350 horses. His bro's Tl Type S shitted on him for a long time. im not doubtin ya american muscle cars, but some of em ricers can really hold their weight. Just like the new Evolution, it shits on the 03 mustang cobra.

Put down the crack pipe bro. An El Camino pushing 350hp is not going to lose to a TLS. The only place an Evo will beat an 03Cobra is in the twisties or bad road surfaces, in a straight line it isn't even close, 12 sec car vs 13 sec car. As for the ricer comment, you consider yourself a ricer? Import car<>Ricer. And this 240 is so far from Rice it isn't even funny.

I still think it is a legit video, I was just giving Greg a hard time, I think the SS was not living up to its potential with the mods. After all, a stock SS is probably putting close to 300HP to the wheels, add 200 shot of Nos, and that puts you around around 465 to the wheels, cam, heads, and other supporting mods should be another 100 or so to the ground....should be close to the 240 in HP, but way over in TQ. The weight difference between the cars might be the deciding factor.

actually, it's very very possible, at the local tracks stock evo's have been running as low as 13.3-13.5 w/ good launches . And not every driver out there can get 13.1 out of a cobra. Most of them wouldn't. It's a race that is really up to the driver, however if they were both bad drivers the cobra would have the edge

new cobra will eat an evo and an STi. New cobra's are rated 13.2 for the auto and 12.9 for the 6spd....its just a beast of a car, light, rwd, 390hp, 390lb/ft....not to mention just do intake/exhaust/pulley/gears/tires you're low 12's high 11's

wrong, there is no auto for an 03 cobra (just admit you pulled those #'s out of your ass). They are rated at 13.2. now you are talking mods. The same prices will get you into low 12's high 11's w/ an evo or STi.

There are a few STi's running around running more boost, intakes, exhaust that are hitting mid to high 12's.

It is really a drivers race.

yeah i definitely pulled those numbers outta my ass. My knowledge is VW/audi, Imports and older domestics. Anything Post 1998 i didn't really pay much attention too cuz most of them are ugly. I do know that the guy at Mustang Magic in deer park where i got my car dynoed now has his new cobra at 600WHP. He had it at i believe 480whp with just pulley, intake, exhaust

the only way a Evo will beat a cobra is on the track. or if there is a wall at the end of the race.

Most puzzling kill I ever saw was when I was in my friends suburban .. and we were minding our own business at a light .. and up pulls like a 98 Firebird WS6. of course we had to give it a shot .. funny thing is we fucking launched and beat him up until he hit third, where he probably would've taken us but he MISSED THE GEAR! he finally got in third and tried to battle back but gave up and turned off with an extremely puzzled look on his face. it was classic guess he didnt expect a suburban to have anything on his little sports car

me and my boy were in his 99 z28 when a pos geo storm pulls up next to us on the highway at about 80 mph, he revved and then took off, before we even knew it he was about 4 cars ahead and we were already on the go, the guy had pulled about 6-7 cars by the time we hit 110

we were at a complete loss of words!

best time i've seen for the evo is 13.4 by a professional driver that doesn't care what condition the cluch is in at the end of the 1/4 mile....
average times for the evo's are mid to high 13's

i think maybe you're comparing the wrong mustang.
the 03' mach1 is a low to mid 13 sec car.
stock they come with 3:55 gears 305hp, 320ft lbs tq.
between the evo and the mach 1 it would be a drivers race.
if you can't beat the snot out of an evo behind the wheel of an 03' cobra you have no business racing it....
03' cobra's run from 12:67 to 13.2 at least from what i've seen.
not only that but from 70mph on the evo would get a serious ass whoopin. anyways i love both cars, it would be a dificult decision on which one to buy. the most fun you can have for 35k.
i respect the subaru sti but i'm not much of a subaru fan.

I think I'd be pretty pissed if a geo storm whooped my ass. stangers get mad about the suburban beating them til he pops the hood and they see the 454 with the whipple supercharger sitting ontop .. then its just

show me one stock cobra that runs 12.6's. That majority of the ones at the track will be 13.0-13.5 w/ a very good driver in lucky car running high 12's.

look at caranddriver.com find the reviews and road tests.
they tested the 01' cobra (320hp) at 13.5@105 mph
03' cobra 12.9@111 mph

EVO 13.9@102 MPH (i have seen 13.5 in other mags)

0-60 for the evo 5 sec.

0-60 for the cobra 4.5

the same magazine tested both cars and there is a full one second difference in the 1/4. still think it's a driver's race?
i read one of the first tests on the cobra before it hit the showroom floor. 12.67@113 mph and yes it was probably one of those cars that had everything together right. but if i were racing for pink slips i would pick the cobra every time.... 120+ hp, 120ft lbs tq more than makes up for the extra 500 lbs.
there is always a freak car out of the bunch that is faster the rest
but i think the evo is out-matched.....

if car and driver can get 12.9 with the cobra then our grandma's could to! look at the time for the evo. that should tell you how well they drive......

Yes, I still think it's a drivers race

as I said, i think the cobra has the better chance, but I think and know the evo can do it

Well, at my track, the elevation in 2700ft and would favor the Evo, the times I have seen are.

2 Evos 13.9@around 100
3-4 03 Cobras 13.2@108

Its not even close in the qtr. The Stang should win everytime, granny shifting and missed shifts included. All these cars were stock from what the drivers told me.

thanks for the imput....

like i said it's the 01' cobra or mach 1 vs. evo = driver's race

03' cobra vs. evo = ass whoopin

i think even a good running s2000 vs. an evo would be a driver's
race...... what do you think?
