Man hot weather and the CLS DON'T MIX!!!!!!!! Sifting SUCKS ASS! Man oh man. I realize that this car desperately needs a tranny cooler. I take it REAL easy on the car during the hot weather.

Accordingly, if i were to bring the hardware and instructions do you think the kind gents @ PAA would do an install based Scalbert's tranny cooler design??

I used a clone of the following one. Same size, etc. just about $5 less and purchased at a local parts store.

Man if I can't one installed at PAA then I will take you up on the offer so I hope you are serious!

Whoever decided that a bonafide tranny cooler wasn't a must in this car is an absolute moron. I doubt the engineers would decide to forego<sp> and so it seems they either didn't have the money or the number crunchers stomped on the idea.

Here are some pics. But a breif explanation would be at the front drivers side of the radiator. It is attached to the center and side braces in front of the radiator.

The first three pics show it's mounting the best.

Guys, I guess referring to other sites may be frowned upon here, but I suggest you stop by www.accordv6.com and check out their extensive FAQ section. They have a section on installing tranny coolers on the 3.0L V-6.

Hmmm, does putting the tranny cooler in front of part of the radiator reduce the radiator's effectiveness?

It is irrelevant in this case as the design is completely different. I beleive the Accord had an external cooler to tap into whereas the CL-S does not.

We had looked at this many times and concluded the information worthless when applied to the CL-S.

Not enough to see an effective difference. Only about 25% of the radiator is covered with something that does allow air to pass through it. In fact, there is a couple inch air gap between the two.

But regardless, the airflow through it will still provide cooling capability to the engine coolant. It may hamper it slightly but this would mean that the stat would open sooner and maybe stay open longer.

My temps are still where they have always been. Plus, in all vehicles I have installed a trans cooler not one has ever had an issue with the engine temps being affected. This is the normal way to install them and is even shown in all direction from the manufacturers.

Well, this is good enough for me
