I use to have the Apexi n1 w/silencer (on a civic) and yeah that was the purpose. You leave the silencer in on the street, and take it off for the track. Without the silencer the exhaust was deafing LOUD!!! even with the silencer it was still pretty loud though. But don't forget that the reason the silencer works is that it is suppressing the exhaust gas. So you are losing HP, by restricting the flow. Also do you know the size of the tips needed for those silencers to work? Those exhaust tips are monsterous, and very very ugly. I bought the N1 thinking that it was a normal looking exhaust, and it was the ugliest exhaust that I have ever seen. It worked great and did what is was claimed to do, but it was just barf ugly. You can't just add one of those silencers to any exhaust, unless the tip was designed for them.

Ok so i dont have to weld the silncer in? Does it just pop off and then snap back on?

The silencer itself is about 4 1/2" in diameter, so the tip of the exhaust needs to be about the same. If the exhaust isn't made for a silencer chances are it won't fit. There is just a small screw that keeps the silencer in place.

Doubt you'll need silencer for Comptech Exhaust.
