Is it safe to?

hey clers... i got a tl-s and i wanna get some new tires, i notice many of u guy have 235/45/17 on stock rims... well ur rims are 17 x 7 rite? well i think mines 17 by 6.5 ... it mite be 17 by 7 cuz mines a canadian tl(plz correct me).. if my rims are 6.5inches wide, is it safe to go 235/45/17 tires? or am i better off goin 225/45/17?

All the TL's have 6.5 inch rims. I don't know the exact reason, some say because of the curb rubbing we all get. If you can, try and score some used CL rims, so you have the 7 inch wide ones. Then you won't have any problems with 235's!!! If that isn't in the price range, you should be able to do it. It's only 1/2 an inch difference. I would ask your local tire shop to make sure.
