Sad - CL ate 10 g'z
Well I bought the last new CL ever purchased in Minnesota from Bloomington Acura. I think I paid 27,000 before taxes and now my KBB is like 18g'z on a trade in.
Has anyone else experienced teh depreciation this bad?

I feel your pain...
I was thinking about getting a new car within the next couple of years (bought my CLS 6spd in Oct' 02), but since the depreciation has really kicked in after the discontiuation, I don't know if I'll be able to do that. I'm a cheap bastard, so I can't see throwing away a perfectly good 30K car and losing 12K on the deal after 2 1/2 years (paid 29.5K for mine).
I'll probably keep the CLS and look for a used rwd sportscar to compliment the CL. The CL will become the "winter beater"...
If Acura comes out with a kick ass rwd or awd coupe, AND I can get a dealer to give me a decent price on trade for my CL, I might be persuaded to buy new again, but after the depreication hit I've experienced on the CL, I don't think I'll buy a brand new car for awhile (if ever again). My CL was the first car I've bought brand new, and I've had good luck before with buying a used car that's one or two years old before. Should have stuck w/ my prior buying habits...

CLS 6MT Navi
I guess I'm not the norm car buyer cause being discontinued has, if any effect, it makes it more desirable. For instance, the Legend Coupe was discontinued in 95, ( I had an 88 and a 95) and that, in no way lessened my interest in finding a sweet 95 coupe. It actually made it more intense to find one.
I never could find a good 6 speed Legend I wanted so I moved to the CLS 6 speed.
I'm hoping my CLS6MT/Navi 21k mi. holds up some. I waited a year to get it and saved about $8-9k off new price. but I'm being majorly teased by the G35 coupe (again) and am vaguely comtemplating a G35. Ugh.

Yeah, I bought the car in January of 04'
and depreciation has already taken a massive dump on me. I think my 96 Jeep Cherokee held its resale value (% wise) than the CL has in a year and half.
Maybe this is the reasoning behind the influx of younger nublets throwing dubz on their shit. The CL has depreciation has caused it to be the new market for high schoolers ( no offense to non-nublet high school members i.e.Mclaren
)
It just really blows my mind. I was planning on leveraging the resale value of my CL for the next car I buy but I guess I can scrap that idea. I'll have to start saving now.

I only lost a couple grand since I got mine used. KBB says I could get about $16K. Either way, I have about 40K miles before I even think about selling or trading it in for my next car....6 speed TL.
