No, the Type-S runs about 4 - 4.5 PSI with the standard pulley.

Could they have a larger crank pulley, or are they just more restrictive.

About what I would expect when the blower is pushing X amount of air on a smaller displacement motor. You also have a more boost friendly CR.

They do have the same size crank pulley.

Smaller jugs to fill with the same amount of air going in = more psi?,..... makes sense I guess.

Smaller motor by 0.2 liters. Since the blower moves a given amount per revolution and the motor consumes another amount. The smaller motor would use less of the blower output thus having a higher boost level.

Based on the engine to blower speed and knowing their respective outputs (the J32A2 is about 195 ci with the blower being 62 ci but the engine is a four stroke so its relative ci is 97.5). Turn the blower at twice the engine speed and you move 124 ci or 1.27 times the engine. This would be an estimate on boost; 27% of 14.7 = 4 PSI stock.

Now there are variances to the equation such as flow resistance, etc. But it does give a decent idea.

Now apply this to the J30A motor of 182ci. Relative displacement of 91ci with a blower output of 124 equals 1.36 ratio. 36% of 14.7 is 5.3 PSI boost. Just about what they run with the base pulley.
