Rotors resurfaced.
I went to the dealer today to get the rotors checked out, and they resurfaced them. I'm sure that wont fix the issue, but its better then having them warped. If it happens again, im going to request new ones.

Wrong. Here's the way it works:
Acura will first resurface the rotors. When you go in a second time with the same problem (Warping), they will replace them. This is a known issue to Honda/Acura. I had my rotors and pads replaced on my front wheels this week under warranty. I also switched to Mobil 1.

got my rotors cut at 7,500 miles...will not accept any excuses when i have to get them replaced at 15,000 miles, especially if they try the "warrantee was voided" clause

mine were replaced with upgraded rotors and pads no charge. they know about problems and have to replace. be firm.
i did post this on tl board when we were down, no bulletin though.
new ones are great, definite difference from original. more brake dust though.

I had them check my rotors, and they replaced them under an acura TSB. I think anyone can get them replaced, if they are having problems. Acura has reconized this as a problem. I will post the TSB number when I get home.

I had mine turned at 7500 and they said they put the updated pads on but I am not to sure about that. They didn't know about them till I said something so we will see. The thing I am thinking is if the rotors can only be turned once what happens when you get new breaks? I was told once that you should turn them each time you get new breaks. Is that true and if so what is Acura going to do when I need new breaks and they cant do the rotors again b/c they did them once under warrantee?

I had to bitch to Acura Customer Service (ACS) to get the dealer to cover the cost of replacing the rotors. Seems like very few dealers will do it unless you make the effort. BTW, mention our forum to ACS--it lets them know we are INFORMED consumers.

I just had my rotors checked at the 15K mile service and they were warped also. I brought the car back in for a rotor 'cutting.' Now the braking is nice and smooth. But, I do not expect that it will remain that way for another 15K. The first time they had to resurface them. The second time I will insist on replacement.
BTW, just so we can all feel somewhat better about this situation, my "outside" mechanic who works on 'high-end' cars told me that they have the same issues with the rotors.
So, I guess we are not alone.
