Yeah, thanks. I was going to get a new TL, kit it out, lower it, throw some Devotion-1pF's on it and mod the hell out of the rest of it, but I decided to keep mthe CL until Acura does something new with the TL or until they come out with a new Coupe. This kit and the mirror polished 19" / 20" Devo-1pFs will def put the car right back into a fresh state of being.

can i offer some constructive critisim? sides look OK to good they remind me of the side skirts that come with that other kit Vis i think? the back is looking very promising...but im not feeling the front at all....no offense but it reminds me of the thing on the front of a train....the jay lenno of chin spoilers...i was hoping for something more like say the mazda 6...and again not trying to flame...

Hey, no offence taken. Here is a blue print view, I was just trying to match the earlier Acura Style with a simple extension of what was already there. Alot of times a kit will look like it doesn't belong on a car, even tho it looks good standing alone. Just swapping a bumper from one car to another can look kinda out of place. But I promise, once it is done and shot properly, it will look factory and give the CL a more muscular yet classy appearance. The front of the CL without our kit really looks too rounded underneath, the opposite of the aftermarket today. The TSX and TL are a perfect examples of where Acura's automotive design is headed, with straight vertical panels that give the illusion of shorter overhangs. The OEM CL tends to remind me of the linocln Mark VIII, where as this one will look more like a modern Acura.

great explaination and seeing the technical drawings im liking the sides and rear even more...the front i think could still be done followin the same pricipal you're describing but in stead of the flow from the top of the hood down to the grill following the same line the chin could have started back inward following the line created by the center point of the bumper cover towards the road lamps...again this is just IMO not trying to in anyway take away from what you're doing

Here are more updated pics. The kit should be done soon. It requires a lilttle more touch-up (rounding) and then off to production.

I agree. Yes, the front will be rounded out to eliminate that "square" look.

I definitely dislike the front. I hope it gets more rounded off. I love the sides and rear though.

I definitely agree w/ you guys. The front needs alot of rounding. If it could come out like the photoshop photos that Rod originally had, the kit will come out really nice.

sweet. no i know you guys took into consideration all the input during the creation of the kit. after all, that was one of the purposes for this thread. so is it safe to say you won't need the bike for the meet after all.

That I don't know... Though it's complete, it still needs to be formed into Urethane and painted, test fitted, and finalized... Definitely by the meet after next

We are kinda taking it step by step, 1 of the guys working on the car was having imigration problems. But Jerry is working overtime on it to make upo for it. Painting shouldn't be that long, that 2-3 week for painting is for regular orders, I would say that they will go straight thru for you on the first one.

Is that the final mold? Are you guys going to try to eliminate the square look on the front? Just curious

yeah man, I don't know about those corners on the front. I thought it would be smoothed out more to stay with the shape/lines of the bumper instead of protruding out so much.

werd im with these guys...that front is so jagged and square...IMO it needs to be ALOT rounder the side profile view is just with it squared like that. but ill save my overall opinion for the finished product.

Fellas, the front lip lines match the upper ,part of the bumper's lines pefectly, We don't want thelip to come to a point while ,the bum per is squared off. We rounded the corner's slightly and I plan to round them off just a tad bit more, but too round and it will become like an arrow head all pointy and out of relation to the rest of the OEm bumper. Besides, these pics are very hard to tell how it will flow, with a medium gray on a white car, just won't have the flow of a monotone painted bumper. Give it a chance, I've seen this in person and it has way more visual impact and flow than in these Work in progress pics. I was kinda skeptical on building a kit for the CL, even 3 years after the car was discontinued, but you guys are really making me feel like it was a mistake. At least I like it and it'll be on my car. But damn, its a real expensive kit if done like that. looks like I'm gonna only produce fewer than 25 and let those guys enjoy the exclusivity. We'll see what happens once it's painted and installed.
