Road Hazzards!

I hit a giant pot-hole the other day doing about 70mph. It gave me a nice bubble on the side of the Michelin's we have. I called Acura for a price on 1 tire (installed & balanced) and they wanted $270. I ended up getting it for $145 but most places wanted close to $200.

This is why you should always buy a road hazzard warranty. If you had one, you would only pay for the wear-and-tear difference.

I learned this lesson the hard way, same as you.

Too late for the one ya lost but you can go to Discount Tire and buy their 'road hazard' warranty for your tires even if they are the original 'showroom' puppies. Something like 10 to 20 for each tire.

You get or can roll in balancing, if I recall correctly. Perhaps the balancing is only available when you purchase the tires from them.

I've bought it in the past and it has paid for itself over the years.

same thing happened to me 'cept I was only going maybe 40-45 when I hit it. small bulge in the sidewall where a cord or two let go. I drove it like that for a week or two. took it to discount tire and got the replacement tire and 4 road hazards/lifetime balance/rotate for something like $100. not as good as free, but it'll have to do.

so far this is the only time I've missed the cheaper 60 series rubber on my old car...
