As the risk of being blasted, can we chill on the 1/2 page signatures!

Guys,

Can we mellow out on the 1/2 page signatures? We all try to read the posts through and paging past someone's icon or picture is annoying after a while.

I know, several of you will respond with a big huge icon right back at me but in the interest of being considerate (especially of the dialup guys) can we make the pics very small and the icons even smaller.

Anyone agree or is Mike just being an old curmudgeon?

I would like to add; don't copy onto a reply that has photos / pictures, some of these posts have the same pictures repeated way to many times. You can make a reply without repeating the orginal comments.

I have to agree. I don't mind multiple lines of text (example: my sig), but the multiple lines of text and huge graphics are just a pain. If you can have a few lines of text and a very small graphic that would be fine. I would just say to try to be reasonable.

A good idea if you want people to know what mods you have or to see pictures of your car is to create a small cheap webpage on geocities or any of the other free website hosting places and create a page and link like I have on my signature. It keeps everything neat and organized and we all don't have to wade through 1/2 page of signatures per poster with countless pictures as well.

The website link for detailed mod info is definitely the best solution. That is what is done on many other boards.

I concur.

Maybe I can create some custom hacks to moderate signature length.

I agree with you 100%, But I think the sigs are cool and add personallity to our board. See, the IS-300 board does not support this feature, and we do!

I just ordered DSL service today because Of this very same problem you are having dude.
Can't wait

I have a T1 at work and cable modem at home so it moves quickly. However, I hate paging down and down simply to see two guys conversing back and forth - one has a picture of his car and the other a picture of his favorite clipart or whatever. And then seeing this 10 times as we go to page 2 or page 3.

I agree that text only is boring - lets use the avatars and smallish sig things - I'm all for that but it just shouldn't monopolize the screen. You green bouncing "thing" - I'm not sure what to call it is okay with me but is at the border of taking too much space IMO.

As I said, I think its okay and does provide some color to be sure..if it was bigger it might get annoying so, as I said, its okay.

I am still waiting for the big grin face from someone - I think this was a Shawn favorite if I remember correctly...

What you think DSL and Cable is running all throughout our neighborhoods and we just prefer to dial up instead? Hey, this part of Overland Park is a relatively new surburb in Kansas, only 2-3 miles to rural Kansas. In my area, there is no high-speed data access yet. Perhaps not till this summer (or later).

I can't understand why Time Warner hasn't made its way out here yet, I'm sure there's 1000s of paying customers ready to go. Do I have to move into the city Kansas City just to get digital cable and Roadrunner?

I live in the center of houston and there is no high speed access. I just happen to be lucky enough to live close enough to work where I can use a wireless bridge for my internet access.

DSL is not available in my area... They just upgraded to a digital system for Cable, and I won't be able to get it for at least a year and a half. Satellite doesn't work, because of trees in the area. We all know what the CL looks like. We don't need to be forced to look at yours.
