Right headlight went out (stealership wants 700?)
Hey, so I took my car to the dealer today for oil change and asked the for an estimate on new bulbs. One hour after dropping it off, they call me and tell me that im gonna need a new INVERTER?? The service advisor told me that changing the bulbs and replacing the inverter was gonna cost me 700. Thats CRAAAZZZYYY!!!!!! What can i do? I cant afford that kind of money at this time, and i dont wanna get pulled over either for driving with a headlight out.... any advice

invertor costs about $250. I doubt that the bulb and invertor are bad, but you never know. If you can take your bumper off, you should be able to change the invrter yourself.

its crazy you mention that 3 months ago my right head light went to find out the inverter went out. and then last week my left head light went out. thinking it was the bulb its the damn inverter. Thank good for extended warranty only paid $1000.00 for 10yr bumper to bumper warranty when i got my car. Its already paid for itself. But is this a common problem with this car?

swap the known good invertor to check if the bulb is also bad. I suspect that your inv. went bad due to water damage. I had a couple (invertors) go out. I ended up sealing most of the rear of the headlight with silicon and haven't had that problem come up again.
