request for a VIN check - cdnized US CL-S
VIN: 19UYA42711A003830
car is an American '01 CL - S that is being advertised for sale in Canada and displays odometer in KM, temp readings in celcius and has daytime running lights.
Original seller a few months back was selling cheaply and attempting to sell as a Cdn car with factory warranty and factory NAVI. When I spoke with the seller and informed him that what he was purporting to sell never existed from the factory, he immediately clammed up, would not let me see the car nor give me the VIN to check out its background.
Car is now for sale again, by the party who bought it and this time, heh, heh, the new seller is asking $5000 more for the car and his "story" is equally as rediculous, but, this guy did give me the VIN.
I'd appreciate if someone with an open Carfax account could kindly run the VIN.
Car is currently showing 72,000 km or approx. 43,000 miles.
I'm curious why all the lying and deception by the sellers. Is the car a US write off, stolen and recovery, etc. or simply a Cdn speedo replacement of a high mileage US car? Sometimes moving the car to a different country lets sellers think they can play games without detection.
Thanks for any investigative help you readers can offer.
