Remember that Carpoint guy...

...who got better acceleration numbers for the CL-P than the CL-S (something like 7.9 and 8.1)?

Get a load of these apples:

http://carpoint.msn.com/Vip/Heraud/B...ries/2001S.asp

There's no way this guy and his crew can really have test driven the manual transmission models. That would require the use of both hands, and which would mean removing their thumb from their ass. For more fun, try to decipher the Pros and Cons page for the 3-series.

*sigh* journalism.

there's a scientific explanation for this:

notice how he complains about lack of space all the time?

and notice how he gets consistenly lower times for all cars?

he's a fat-ass...that's the only logical explanation.

on his review for the cl,
if you check all the categories, there are so many contradictions that freakin' judge judy would kick your ass.

on one page, it says that the cabin is roomy, and then on the report card, he gives it 30% or something low complaining about space.

then on the report card, it says the headlights on the cl-s are better than the standard ones on the cl-p (they have the same headlights, you fucken' fatass!).

get my drift here? all his reviews are bullshit reviews.

Fatties... Boy oh boy they make me mad. "Oh, we have a slow metabolism..." Bull, stop eating Arbys and Mcdonalds for a week and see what happens.
That actually would explain alot. My fat roomate from three years ago thought my '87 Legend was small. When he was in the passenter side it would tilt in that direction just a bit.

What are some of his domestic car reviews like? Maybe his father was laid off from GM or something.

What's really cool is that according to these tests, a 525 automatic with a good driver can give a 330 manual all kinds of hell.

Here's to hoping that Microsoft doesn't recruit their auto journalists and network security specialists from the same labor pool.

This guy is complete moron. He must test them starting out in second gear or something. LOL

Testing Methods, yeah right

<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Each vehicle featured in Test Drive undergoes a comprehensive week-long evaluation by Daniel Heraud and his team of four testers. Using the latest in state-of-the-art measuring equipment, each car is driven on the same 28-mile test loop to ensure consistent comparison results. Tests on some General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler vehicles are conducted at their respective proving grounds in Detroit and Phoenix.

To test acceleration, braking, and roadholding, Heraud's testers use the industry-standard Vericom 2000 testing equipment to achieve accurate, reliable, and consistent results. Performance tests are run in two directions to compensate for any wind effects. For interior sound levels, they use a professional sound meter, while for fuel consumption, a fuel flow meter is employed.

The 28-mile loop used for open-road evaluation contains a mix of terrain ranging from smooth highways to rough and twisting back roads. Each member of the test team drives and evaluates each vehicle on this loop. Team members then meet to compare notes and insights on each vehicle tested.

Maybe he was testing the cars at an elevation of 20,000 feet??

One of the major car rags had the Lincoln LS listed as 8.8 in the 0-60 test. They at least put a note saying it was "altitude affected."

Altitude effected? Maybe 'Attitude' effected. Where was he testing the cars? The high Sierras? How did he rate GM and Chrysler cars?
