Refreshing the CL - GPS, sway bar, road lamps and clear spoiler light installed
I've had the modding itch lately so I thought I'd post a few pics:
Installed the clear brake light myself, only took about 15 minutes.
I also installed the Pioneer F700BT using the Metra kit - straight forward install - took less than 2 hours. I bought this deck thanks to advice on the forum and I love it. Best of all, you can get pretty far hacking this deck - check out www.avic411.com if you have a Pionner GPS deck.
Installed the road lamps in about 2 hours, easy install but it was a PITA getting the screws in and out. I'd rather have real fog lights but these fit properly and I think they look pretty good.
And I had Garage 5 (www.garagefive.net) install the sway bar. They only charged me $60 (Canadian). I haven't had a chance to put it to the test yet but I'm happy it hasn't noticably affected the ride quality. This is the Comptech sway for the 3G TLs.

The light is actually designed for a Honda Goldwing GL1800 but its a direct fit with the OEM spoilers.
You get em from a few places still:
http://www.spoilerlights.com/servlet...b-Clear/Detail
http://www.cyclemaxohio.com/inc/sdetail/609
Super easy install - I had to cut the wiring harness from the stock brake light but it was only 2 wires. There's a 3rd wire to also use it as a running light but I didn't bother hooking it up.
Or you can spend a bit more and they'll work as turn signal indicators too ...

Check out www.avic411.com for updates on the radio. I upgraded to 3.01 last week and the radio is much faster and more responsive.

My next project is to try and get it to talk to my OBDKey (bluetooth). I'd love to get the deck to some data logging, show guages, etc.

Car looks great.
I was wondering if the CL had the option for navigation in Canada? If so does it work for the U.S. I went to Toronto two years ago and remember my navigation was blank once I crossed the border

When the car finally gets here from NJ, I'll make sure to update the firmware. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm almost positive navi wasn't an option in Canada for the 2nd gens (both CL & TL). I bought mine new and they never offered it.

Thanks!
I have the F700BT installed in the wife's first gen CL and I hated how slow it was(the 700 not the CL) Main reason why I went with another brand, the Pio has great feature set though.

Nice updating. I'm thinking of getting a f700bt myself. they're going for not too bad now that the x series is out. That clear LED is sick too, if I had an OEM spoiler I'd be all for that.

Id suggest the F90BT. The difference in price (at least last time I looked) was not that much, and the F90BT has more features.
Whatever you do though, dont forget to update to the 3.01 firmware.

Ill tke some if the OP cant. Mine came in yesturday
I love it honestly. I didnt even need to switch and wires. It had the bullet connectors on the correct orientation. I got it on eBay for $37 shipped, from a motorcycle recycler.
Thanks OP for the idea

I got the Metra kit for $37 off of ebay....they're pretty easy to find:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ACURA-CL-2001-200...d=p3286.c0.m14
And yeah, the color is "slightly" off but pictures with a flash always make those kinds of things look worse. In normal light its barely noticable.

Search eBay for "GL1800 Spoiler Light". I dont want to give away the exact link because I dont want Noah to lose his chance of getting it.
