recent motor mounts

Who's replaced Motor mounts in the last few months? What did it cost? How did you know they were shot? Any body order OEM from an online retailer?

I might be getting them replaced on Tuesday. My car has 90k and I drive the shit out of it. Should I just replace em all while I'm at it or just the front (which I believe is the problem)?

Any other service hady to do while they are doing that work?

Thanks

... yeah, I know "search"... I did and I read pages ... any definitive, consolidated info would be appreciated!

This only answers one of your questions but, check out MAGauto.com. IIRC, when I priced out parts versus acuraoemparts.com, MAGauto.com was almost $100 cheaper. Just get the part numbers from acuraoemparts. It's easier that way.

They are a dealer thats local to me. I get parts from them all the time.

was that for all mounts? What were the signs of it/them being shot? ie how did transfer to how the car drove?

This was for the front and side mount. The rear was still good. The normally war out I think about 80k. I had a friend look how much my engine was moving when I had it in drive and hit the gas with the brake applied. The engine will move a LOT or at least mine did. They will also leak from the bottom since they have hydrolic fluid in them.

You paid $710 for them to replace the front and tranny mount.

Wow, got to love dealerships, that's a ridiculous price for motor mounts. I can't even understand how they came up with that price.

I changed both of them in 1.5 hours?

The motor mounts were I think around 200 and the rest for labor. My butt hurt after I picked up the car. Not like I can argue the price with them.

If 700's to high, what should it cost? Assuming the mounts (front & side) are around $350+- (combined obviously). If the work/pain-in-the-ass isnt worth the other 350, how tough is it to do?

You think that is crazy, I stopped by a local dealer to get a new rear mount and for the hell of it I asked how much would it cost to install a front and rear mount not including parts.

I was quoted $1100. I at the guys face, I told the parts guy what that crook said and he was like , he couldn't believe what I was quoted.

I got a new OEM front mount for $107.61 shipped from an Acura of Lynnwood on ebay. They have a side mount for $71.55 shipped to my zip code. So figure under $200 for both and installing the side mount is pretty easy, I haven't attempted the front one yet, but as distorted said above, it seems to be just as simple.

trying to remember everything but...
a ratchet and nice extension to get it up out of the car. i also needed my little swivel joint for the socket on one bolt. some PB blaster on standby just in case. floor jack and piece of wood to support the motor and fine tune to get the large side bolt in.

1. Anyone done a DIY with pics?

Should I just replace em all while I'm at it or just the front (which I believe is the problem)?
2. Ditto. Front and side only or is doing the rears at the same time a must? 120K 2001 CLs.

nope. the front and side are simple once you take a look at them. a trick for the front is to loosen the top bracket that goes to the motor so that you can slide the mount out.

i don't know about the auto rear. someone else will need to chime in. i would bet that since you are doing 2 that you should go ahead and replace the rear also.

Recently when I went in for my srs light (seatbelt sensor) warranty repair, they called me and told me the front and ride side mount needed to be replaced. Obviously I declined as I'll do it myself, but they quoted me $425 for the front and $191 for the right side. LOL

Did you guys that replaced your mounts notice a big difference?

What's involved with the rear mount replacement? Sounds easy when you say it. Is it though?
