This is really sad....

As I had just finished merging onto I-35 (going towards Austin) this Grey Turbo-S Beetle pulls along side me and starts lurking foreward, and then coasts back to match my speed. Realizing what he was looking for, I floor it, thinking this will be a swift victory. To my suprise, he hangs with me, nose to nose, until my car upshifts to 4th, where he starts to pull on me. By the time we both shut down (approx. 120mph) he's a good 2 cars on me. I noticed he had exhaust, but I'm not sure what other mods he had (if any). Does this sound normal? I was expecting to stomp all over the guy! I'm going to get my car dynoed withing the next few weeks, and I was also wondering what kind of numbers I should expect with my given mods. Thanks again for any replies!

Even sadder is the fact that he runs that crappy mobil through that engine instead of something better, like Castrol. What a sin.

I see you have somthing against Mobil!

I don't that was a factor in the race!
BTW, Mobil 1 Synthetic is one of the best you can put in your ride...this from a turbo owner w/over 127K miles on it!

Castrol is absolutely the best, and all I've ever used. Like they say "anything else is just motor oil." But seriously, I wouldn't buy anything from a company that has absolutely no regard for the environment, as well as anything (including people) that live in it. ExxonMobil has a long, well-documneted history of spilling oil all over the place, refinery explosions that kill workers, and so on. My conscience won't allow me to do business with this type of organization.

You think Castrol drills the oil out of their back yard? ExxonMobil is just like all of the oil companies.

Not to make anyone out to be perfect, but if you read the news it's plain to see that just about every time some oil gets spilled, or someone dies needlesssly in a refinery explosion, it's ExxonMobil. They haven't even paid for the Valdez accident in 1989! Other oil companies seem to be a little more responsible. I don't know about you, but I would like for future generations to enjoy the same natural wonders that I have.

no such thing as a boost controller on new vw's and audi's...

The chip is the only thing that can change the boost. And it is only good for 235hp (i think)...

Anyway, your car being an AUTO and going into an overdirve gear is what killed you...

You are on crack. Castrol isnt a better oil than Mobil. I have friends who run service shops who claim they have found everything in Castrol oil, from Condoms to pieces of metal.

Mobil makes some of the better synthetic fluid you can buy.

No, like I stated before, I try only buy things that were produced properly - you know, organic meat and vegetables(if you knew what went into the factory farmed stuff, you wouldn't eat it either). There's nothing wrong with using our resources as long as we use them responsibly. This will ensure that these resources will be available to future generations.

Again, if you saw the sad state of the Prince William Sound, after some drunk ran that exxon ship aground, it would have made you sick.

Oh, and by the way, ridicule is the lowest form of argument. Those who have nothing intelligent to say simply berate others. That's the real shame here.
