Ready to take the Zaino Plunge. Let me know if I'm getting the right stuff.

Z1 - Show Car 'Polish Lok'
Z2 - Show Car Polish for Clearcoat Paints
Z5 - Polish for Swirls/Fine Scratches
Z6 - Ultra Clean 'Gloss Enhancer' Spray
Z7 - Show Car Wash
Z9 - 'Leather Soft' Spray Cleaner
Z10 - 'Leather in a Bottle'
Z12 - Clear-View Glass Polish
Z16 - Perfect Tire Gloss (rubber & trim protectant)
Z18 - Claybar

+3 4x5 Polish Applicators.

GRAND TOTAL = $133.95

Does that sound about right to the forum gurus? Am I missing anything I really need or listing something I don't want? Thanks for any advice before I mail off this HUGE check.

Ditch the Z-1 from your list and get ZFX instead.
The rest looks good.

scratch the Z1 and get ZFX

i'd also scratch the Z9 b/c yer getting Z10, the Z12 is yer call, but i think i'll try it myself, and i'm personally not a fan of Z16 b/c it's too runny...as an alternative, consider Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance

other than that, yer all set

Also the Z-12 isn’t really a “glass cleaner” in the sense like Windex is.
It’s more of a polish to use when required to get out scratches and imbedded dirt.
I bought some a while back, but haven’t tried it yet.

ZFX instead of Z1

All you need for the finish of the car is:
Z2
Z5
Z6
Z7
Z18 - recommended if you've never clayed your car

All the other stuff is optional. Personally I like Lexol for leather and 303 Protectant for tires and dash.

actually, the "bling" stays longer when u use Z5 more than Z2...ok, time to b a nerd...i came across commentary from a chemist about a month ago who broke down Zaino into its chemical components...now i gotta go find it ...Z5 bonds to the paint better and longer than the Z2, but Z2 has more reflexive qualities...bottom line is if u ZFX and slap 3 coats on in a row, yer gonna maximize the appearance if u use at least the 1st coat with Z5...second and 3rd coats r up to u...take it for what it's worth to u

Why do I want to ditch the Z1? What does the ZFX do that makes it worth more than twice the cost of Z1?

As for the Z9, I thought that it was different from Z10 in that it is made to actually clean the leather, as opposed to conditioning and preserving, which I thought to be the role of Z10. I'll be glad to be wrong on that, as I have no problem with saving money where I can.

Thanks for the tips, guys.

ZFX replaces Z1 completely, AND ZFX speeds up drying time and allows u to throw up to 3 coats of Z on one after another before waiting for complete curing, which can take anywhere between 8 and 24 hours, depending on climate conditions

yeah with Z9, u CAN use it...but i commonly use a damp soapy Zaino towel to clean off the dash and seats first before using Z10...up to u tho

when i work on the side skirts, i have to get up close and personal with 'em simply b/c they're the most vulnerable areas of the car...i use a LOT of Z on them to protect as much as possible...claying helps too...unfortunately, i've found times where claying and Z won't get off some stuck on grime...WD40 will b the next line of defense...if that doesn't work, i'll just use my fingernail to get it off, then re WD40, wash off, and Z

as far as the pitting marks, i got em all over my front bumper...not much u can do but to make sure u get some good coats of Z on...people who get film put on, depending on the person putting it on and if there's excess left over to use for the area, MAY get some protection but only for the first part of the skirt...the rest is still exposed unfortunately

and Sal doesn't need to sell Z to retail stores b/c word of mouth is the best advertising tool he's got

I agree. It’s the ONLY ZAINO product that I can’t recommend.
It’s like trying to detail your tires with SKIM MILK !!

I still use what's left in the bottle for detailing under the hood, but not on the tires.

Alright, Scooter, you talked me into it. I'm gonna switch out the Z1 for ZFX, and I'm going to scratch the Z9 and just use a damp rag +Z10.

Btw, how long does it usually take to get a shipment from them, and do I have to send in a check, or will they take a cc over the phone?

Thanks for all the advice, everyone!

DONE! Per your recommendations, I switched Z1 out in favor of ZFX and also nixed Z9 from the list. Out the door, the order cost me $152+change from ecklers.com. Hope it's worth it. *crosses fingers*

I decided to go ahead and order it because I really didn't feel like duplicating all the effort I've put into reading about the Zaino products into some other brand just for the tire gunk, which I also wanted for the weather stripping and other soft rubber parts on the car. Plus, as long as the stuff isn't just horrible, it'll be worth it to get it now if only for the convenience of not having to go to the auto parts store or another website to get it.
