Rant about tonight

Just need to say this because it put me in a bad mood.

Ok so tonight I am at a light and a cop is stopped at the red light so mine turns green and the cop is the first car. So I make a left and I see the cop make a u-turn and gets behind me after catching up and I see him make the u-turn so I am not speeding. He gets right behind me and puts his lights on so I pull over. I ask what I am getting pulled over for and he says your tints are dark and you were driving a little fast. When I made a point not to drive fast because I saw him turn around and felt like he was coming for me. So turns out he gives me 2 tickets for having tinted windows and for "speed not reasonable" whatever that means. So now I have to go to court and fight these and I will be away at school when the court date is scheduled for. Really pissed off right now. I would have taken a tint ticket but he had to give me 2 for no reason. :angryfire . Just had to get this off my chest.

your car speaks "pull me over" with those 5% tints. he probably threw in the speeding citation just to fulfill his quotas. you my friend just lucked out.

That does suck, man. Good luck with the "Speed not reasonable" bull shit ticket. He probably thought you looked slightly suspicious due to your U-Turn. I could be wrong though.

Call, or better yet stop by, the station that he works out of and file a complaint with his supervisor. When you talk to him/her be calm, admit to the tint (that's pretty obvious) but question the speeding ticket - explaining it calmly and clearly. You might get it dropped and you'll for sure get a note in his record. The very fact that you took the time and trouble to show up in person will carry a lot of weight.

5% Llumar Tint?

Yeah I'd pull you over too. No need for tint that dark. With the solar control glass it's more like 2-3%.
But the speeding thing, yeah that sounds like typical NY bs.

was it raining by any chance? they can give you tickets for going speed limit if they feel that you are going to fast for road conditions, or if youre going speed limit and weaving thru slower traffic thats also considered not reasonable speed for road conditions. its just a bullshit way they can screw you for somthing.

5% tint will get you really often. Especially at night. I got pulled over a ton of times because of the tint on my car. Never got a ticket, so I never delt with it.

As for "speed not reasonable" I think it has to do with how fast you pull away from stop. If you accelerate too fast. It's BS.

I had a cop pull me over for aggressive driving, seat belt, no current insurance card and while he was at it he wanted to check my tint also. At the time I was riding dirty too...I tried to remain calm, be respectful "yes sir" "no sir" (cops here really like that it boosts their ego).

Ended up warning me to get my tint fixed and that he does traffic patrol and would be looking for me but let me go with a verbal warning.

I think that he wanted to get a closer look at my car

Thats typical NY bullshit, especially nassau/suffolk. Ive had my fair share of incidents over there, including getting pulled over with another car and being given the other guys license, registration, insurance, and tickets. NY cops suck dick, especially L.I. cops

Enough people complain and he'll get a smacking from his supervisor. Most cops are pretty nice people just trying to do a tough job. There are a few though that give the rest a bad name. Sounds like you got one of the bad ones.

What's to complain about? Writing a ticket?

Unless the Judge tosses it for not being legal or somesuch you got no chance. And by griping to his boss you can be sure the cop will not miss the court date.

How about for writing an unjustified ticket? The only reason some cops do this kind of stuff is because people let them get away with it. Don't forget that the cops work for YOU (as long as you pay taxes ), not the other way around.

If you decide to file a complaint, be sure to be polite and clearly state your case. Believe it or not most police departments want to know if they have a problem with one of their officers. This is always assuming that you didn't do or say something to really tick him off during the original stop that you haven't told us about. Not saying you did, but should that be the case then just pay the fine and walk away.

Why do you think it's unjustified? Just because the giy who got it is not happy doesn't make it bad.

The person who decides if the ticket is unjustified is the Judge, not the cops boss. Complaining will get you nothing.
