Ran a 01 Z06, holy crap!

I knew i would get my ass handed to me but the car was feeling very happy and pulling like a mad man so i reeled him in.
First run, we are already at 100 so i had to start with 4th, he was a car behind, by 125 he was already 2 cars in front. I could of done better had i been in vtec, but it was too late by the time we both backed off.
After the run, he slows down alot, till about 80. I do the same to see if he would line up.
He took his time but finally came right next to me and we cruised together at 80 mph. I was ready this time in 3rd and we both punched it at the same time. I kept up to 100 and he started to pull away. Took it to 4th and he had 1 car on me and was walking away from me at this point. We went up to 130 and he had 2-3 cars on me.
I really thought he would of taken me by alot more considering its a Z06, but then again he might of not been trying too hard or just couldnt drive it well. He was really surprised that i kept up in the lower speeds so well, and after the runs, he followed around me to check out the car.
He had tints and i couldnt give a thumbs up to him before i exited so i just highbeamed a couple of times and took off. Didnt get a response from him, but im kinda glad he didnt put his hazards on!
Overall a very fun night coming home!

Nice runs! Those ZO6's are damn fast.

Did you get any gains from the tuned E-manage??

i was pretty sure its an 01, didnt look like a newer one. plus, if it was an 02, he should of pulled on me easier.

as for the emanage, i did a dyno right before allmotor retuned it. peak hp was 254 (ill post dyno later), but my AF ratio was 10- all through 5500-7000 rpm so i was losing alot of power.
after we did a retune, i get low 12's, high 11's. the car feels at least 15 hp at the wheels stronger. ill post the dyno so that you guys can comment on it.
my final mod is the thermoblok assuming they fit in, that should net me with a solid 280 whp i am hoping.

If I could find 3 more people interested in the intercooler I think Scalbert might do another production run (he wants at least 5 people).

Is the 15-20hp gain with the emanage a small peak or do you see gains all across the powerband?

You get 15whp flat across the power-band... we arn't tuning just one RPM point.

Did you guys use the FPR re-cal or did you keep the FPR as it is shipped from Comptech with the CL kit.

Wow! Cali. gas must really kill the horsepower on your car. Either that or the stock exhaust system is very restrictive with the Comptech charger. My car made 295whp with Comptech S/C, HBP, Headers, Catback... un-tuned.

I also think you have a freakishly fast CL.

exhaust might be taking off about 10 whp. however, as i mentioned, my afr was WAY too rich and thats where i was losing power until we retuned it.

Where's the cheapest place to buy an E-manage? I guess I'll need a wideband O2 sensor as well?

i was actually talking to allmotor about this, and we probably will do it. i am gonna get the support tool eventually so that we can set 2 maps and i can switch between them at any time.

i got mine off ebay for like 230 shipped, i dont remember the exact amount but it was the cheapest from ebay as i recall.
you need a way to monitor AFR so a wideband is necessary, unless you decide to get dyno'd. however, i would recommend the wideband regardless because it is good to have it around to monitor AFR at any time.
for example, i noticed that my AFR would stay around 12 in all the first 3 gears, but when it hit fourth, i would hit 13's. without the wideband, i wouldnt know about it. but i was watching it and let off when i saw this to prevent running too lean. (this was when i was playing around with the z06)

untuned, our cars run pretty damn good as is. tuning will help, but dont expect too much. If you had stock exhaust and lived on 91 gas, i doubt you would see more than 280 whp on a dyno!

Just a note i wanted to make on my dyno results: I checked your dyno steve and your AFR seems to hover right below 12, which is pretty much where you want to be. In Vtec, you see over 11.5 afr for 1k rpms, and over 11.1 for the other 1k rpm. I am not sure how much YOU can gain from the emanage, since your afr will only be fine tuned along the same lines you already have. Also, with the 93 octane, assuming you dont have any detonation, adjusting timing may not be so much an issue for you. Overall, i think the emanage on your current setup will not yield significant gains, but can give a better power band possibly.
For us peeps in cali, the emanage helps more!
Finally, the 254 whp i made is a result of a very jumpy and rich fuel curve. I hit 10.0 and below for most of vtec, which sapped my high end power. Since the retuning, my curve should be very similar to yours, without the dip to 11's though. Now i just wish the next dyno day would be sooner than 2 months!
