We were at a light. Two guys with some rock music playing pretty loud. They took off from the light and I just eased into first. When they were about 5 car lengths ahead I pushed the pedal down and wound out first, then second, and then most of third. We got up to around 100mph.
Then some fooker merged into my lane and I had to jam on the brakes and switched into the lane behind the Mustang (still about 5 carlengths ahead of me).

The thing is, once I pushed the pedal down, they didn't get any further away than the five carlengths they had at launch, and it appeared to me that I was slowly reeling them in right before I had to brake.

I eventually pulled up next to them and nodded at the driver. He kinda took off again so maybe he was expecting another go from the 65mph we were cruising at. I just got in behind him and didn't bother catching up as my exit was approaching.

The best part of it all though, is that when I got into an exit lane, the driver threw me a peace sign. I thought that was really nice of him. Guess not all Mustang drivers are dicks after all.

I had fun. It was a good ride home.
