Raced a 01 911 Turbo!

Well it was about 10:00-10:15 last night. A dude in a Black 911 pulls up to me (it looked sweet) I check out his car, and I start reving my totally trick LS6 motor at about 4000 rpm's. He looks at me and he starts reving. The light turns green I romp the gas and I burned all the freakin rubber off my tires while the 911 starts to get traction so I shift into second and regain the road. SO we shoot off like rockets with our heads and bodies stuck to the seat we stay door to door until about 80mph when he starts to pull away. Im already in 3rd so I shift into 4th and start pullin on him after 5th it was all over I was about 5-6 car lengths ahead of him. I dont even know were we were we were going so freakin fast I almost wet my pants. At the stop sign we roll down our windows and give each other the "thumbs up" and go our seprate ways.

Umm, you sure it was a 911 Turbo, and not a plain 911 C2/C4??? Those things run low 12's STOCK! What do you have in that LS6 motor?

As does the Z06 'vette. The only plus for the Turbo is the all-wheel drive. The Z06 would also outhandle the Turbo in the twisties, (can we say 1.1+G's?). Honestly, I wouldn't doubt this story. Plus for less than HALF the cost of the turbo, the Z06 'vetter is one awesome machine. Lingenfelter's twin turbo Z06 outruns and outplays the turbo 911 in all aspects and still only costs 76G I believe. In my opinion, I'd take the 'vette, (also because I don't like the look of the porsche)...

Sounds like mr turbo didn't know how to drive since that car has been known to have a 0-60 in the high 3's. Properly driven that vette would have its ass handed to it, as the 911 is going to have amazing out of the hole traction compared to the Vette. Vette over a work of art? Easy choice for myself, Porsche all the way. That turbo is a work of art the vette is just a vette albeit a decent car but it sure as fuck is no porsche.

hey Zoom, didn't you just have a different username before??? And does anyone else have a hard time believing anything this dude says? No offense, just seems completely absurd that anyone would come onto an Acura CL Forum and post the stories you post on here...Just my 2 cents.

the porsche shouldve beaten the zo6 cuz of the allwheel drive launch but the driver couldve sucked ass in shifting
anyway..question..why would you modify the zo6 suspension when it comes from the factory with 1.0g? personally i wouldn't touch that car..maybe debadge it for that sleeper effect..whatever good kill

There is no way you could have taken him by 5-6 car length. The 01 Turbo is one of the fastest production automobiles EVER made.

Well as most of you guys know (some dont) the LS6 motor is in the Corvette ZO6. Ive got Thorley headers, Borla exhaust (suckey), and a ( i know you guys arent gonna believe this a whipple supercharger. It was cheap to it was only like $4500 (because my friend hooked me up he installed it for only $300). In the beginning oh my story I said I burned the friggen rubber off the tires (until 2nd). He had me for about 1/4 until my tires gto some traction and rocketed up to him.

I'm sorry but it just strikes me as incredible that a person with such lacking punctuation and grammatical skills can afford such expensive automobiles...You obviously aren't a professor or a lawyer...Can I ask, what do you do for a living?...Or do you just have wealthy parents that have indulged your automotive cravings???

Sorry, don't mean to be trolling, but heard about these threads, and had to take a look...

So here we go....pay attention to the times

<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">originally posted by ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM in another thread http://www.acura-cl.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000105.html:

So Monday nite he has a supercharger. Damn, that was fast. Possible, but abnormally fast.

Oh, but wait...
<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">blah blah, beat 911 turbo, blah blah

So he raced the turbo on Sunday PM. So...that would mean Sat nite/Sun AM he was thinking about getting a SC. Wakes his ass up, drives down to his buddy's shop, gets a SC installed, and goes out and runs a 911 turbo right away. Possible I guess, dunno if you need to break in SC's, but I doubt it's good for them to go WOT right after they're installed. So....I call BS

(although he doesn't say what year 911 turbo it is, as it's not neccessarily a 996tt...but that's moot at this point)

Well what I do for a living is fix auto's. The body. See the only down side to working on cars is the pay isnt always consistent. I love it though. I know your rolling your eyes, but the pay is great. Why the SC in a day. I ment by "I was thinking about a whipple," I was going to have it put on. My buddy had one it was supposed to be for this other guy that had a ZO6 motor in a old muscle car (forgot what model). So he made the other dude wait until he gets a new one. He installed it in about 8 hours he said. He had no work, he had slow buisness so he had his "workers" help him install it. So I picked it up. Zipped around town for I dont know 1 1/2 hours or so. Then I got caught up with a 911.

thats my 2

blkmjx - yea, you did, but I have circumstancial (sp?) evidence

zoom zoom zoom (hmm, not from the mazda commercial is it? j/k) - Ok, I'll admit I don't really know much about domestics, but I thought the Z06 motor was fairly new? I'm totally guessing, and I could be wrong here. When did it come out? In what car besides a Z06 'vette?

I don't doubt that a supercharged Z06 (or even a stock one, if the 911 guy couldn't drive too well) would beat a 911TT, however A) I don't believe that you own a Z06 and B) I don't believe that you have a supercharger if by some wild chance you actually do even have a Z06.

not to ream you or anything...but you said you raced the 911 turbo the last night, meaning Saturday night...before you were even thinking about the SC. Seems kinda hard to believe you beat a 911 Turbo (either 993 or 996) by 5-6 car lengths w/o the SC.

Just wondering...the stock Z06 has considerably lighter wheel/tire pkg. than the regular C5. Why switch? You'll likely hurt acceleration. Why switch the already superb suspension of the Z06? Why mess with perfection?

You seem like the guy on here before that had a Z06, LS430, GS430, IS300 and a 85' Camaro...traded any cars for a 328 lately?
BTW, was this a 993 or 996 turbo?

Ahhhhhh (proof that I'm not a lawyer/legal person)

Take this into account with my reply earlier, and hey! Lookie here...WE HAVE UNDENIABLE PROOF OF BS!!!

So here's the more accurate timetable (so I'm bored):

- Sun AM he's thinkin about a SC
- Sun PM he posts he raced a 911tt Sat
- Mon PM he "has" a SC
* Tues he says he got the SC installed Sun, before racing the 911tt (ON SATURDAY)

Oh yeah one more thing to add. The reason why I beat the 911 in 5-6 car lenghts becuase he was a crappy azz driver. As an example when we were up to like 95 (I think)I looked in the mirror he was getting loose. Which I didnt understand because the car is all wheel drive.

Pulled this shit off? All I see is a bunch of guys calling bullshit on your ass. How's that fooling?

Do you even know what a LS6 motor is? You keep quoting the engine code like that's suppose to impress people. What's the difference between that and other vettes? What is the exact CID on the LS6? What else is different from "Your" Z06 and the regular vettes?

Well the ZO6 has as I mentioned before a "LS6" motor, the normal Corvette C5 has a "LS1" motor, the ZO6 has a lighter set of wheels (6lbs a wheel), it has of course ZO6 badging, the interior is slightly different, the front air dam is just noticibly different, the C5's usually have a fast back (availible in coupe form+conv.), while the ZO6 is only availible in coupe form, the ZO6 doesnt have Good Year Run Flats, the ZO6 costs more, the ZO6 has little air scoops near the back fender for the brakes, the ZO6 has titanium exhaust, the rear+windshield are thinner for wight reasons, and the ZO6 has these little ZO6 emblems on the seats, while the C5 just has "Corvette." I think thats it.

Well what the dealer told me is the LS6 motor is based on the LS1 has a modified block casting, a new intake manifold, new cam, stronger valve springs, and larger fuel injectors.
