Quick tip

So I was driving to my roller hockey game which is a 40 min drive and noticed no air coming through the vents when the air system was off. I ALWAYS noticed air coming through no matter if it was on or off and at highway speeds there should definately be air coming through.

BUT then I noticed the button with the circular arrows on it (the air recirculation button) was on! On when the air system was OFF.

Which is Weird to me but then it all CLICKED..... when that button is on and the system is off, no air can find its way through the vents into the car, so there isn't the draft.

I was always wondering if there was a way to get rid of that DRAFT and I happen to run into it by FLUKE

Hope this helps or isn't already known by EVERYONE. lol

Lol - yeah that's in the owners manual. Turn the recirc off and crack the sunroof and watch how drastic the airflow increases. In the mornings, or at night, it's like having the A/C on without using the gas.

^ I rarely run with the AC on when Im on the highway. I usually put the sunroof on tilt and have the vents open or the fan on.

I love that draft I feel like I cant breath when the windows are up with out it

Just a wierd fact but my 1980 trans am has a system that refreshes the air in the cabin and this was the first year that pontiac introduced this

Interesting. I have always been aware of the draft, but I have been unable to figure out how to stop it/prevent it from happening. I never knew the key was the recirculation button. Thanks for the info.

sorry I dunno about most ppl but I don't read the manual. Unless I want to know something that should be common simple knowledge. And I wouldn't know where to look to find that information without surfing most of it.

I kinda figure out what I need to know on my own, I never was one for instructions of any sort. LOL unless it's for my car

My old Civic had two recirc switches. One on the HVAC controls for the whole cabin, and one that was just the drivers vent. I loved it.

All cars with a fresh/recir. switch does it. My mom's camry does it and its a manual lever on her car.
