Hey guys, I just put in the AEM CAI, and I was wondering, should it be really loud. I think it is a lot louder than stock especially above 4000 RPM's. And it kind of makes a really rasspy noise at around 5000 RPM's. It almost sounds like a rice grinder but not quite as bad. I can feel some increase in power, so I guess it was worth it. Let me know what you guys think.

Yeah it's normal. I put mine on last month. I still don't like it! I hate that hissing sound when idle, & hate when it burps when the car gets turned off. The noise aren't lound inside, but they are outside. Also if you have the AC on, like I have to all year round in south FL it hisses everytime the compressor turns on/off. I'm finding I really don't like the CAI at all. I'll give it another month though. I knew when I got it installed I may take it out. I decided to try it out.

 

Yea its normal. The AEM growls at 4200 RPM as soon as the VTEC kicks in.

 

Its such a good sound!!!!!!!

Keep me updated on your decision to keep the CAI or not. I would be happy to take it off your hands.

 

It makes a hell of sweet VTEC sound.

 

Luv the sound @ VTEC (though my fiancee hates it)! I think that UFO whoosh when you turn the car off sounds cool.

 

That's right now that I think about it, it gets loud when VTEC kicks in. Almost sounds like it's a completly different car. I guess it kind of kicks ass huh!
